Rightfully so. ALA and FLA have played better teams, and looked more impressive in beating those teams so far. Next week is Texas' first real opponent of the season.

    expected and absolutely correct.

we just need to worry about winning out and the SEC teams will cancel each other out in the conference championship game.

Agree 100%. Texas can move back up based on what happens next weekend.

Maybe. OU is #20 and Alabama is playing #22 South Carolina.

Unless Alabama squeeks by SC and UT blows out OU, can't see UT getting back to #2.

The Big 12 has the most teams in the top 25 with 5.

Doesn't matter that Texas drops. They just need to win out and they are in.

Their wins come from bad non-conference teams. Not really any big win over good SEC, BIG 10, ACC, PAC 10 or even BIG EAST teams.

I think last year we had Texas, OK, Tech, Missouri, and OK state in the top 15 at one point.

Because the B12 was good last year, so a bunch of teams were ranked based on that.

Kansas is ranked because you have to rank 5-0 teams, even if their wins are against 5 nobodies. OU is ranked because they started out in the top 5 - they are the only ranked 2 loss team. Nebraska is ranked because they beat a Missouri team that was ranked for the same reason Kansas was. Just look at who these teams beat.

The best team ANY B12 team has beaten was Georgia - who's now 3-3. If you look at the statistical computer rankings that take out the preseason and name bias, the B12 is ranked as the 5th best conference.

Big 12 certainly isn't the best but 5th?! Also not true.

As far as the rankings, no team this year has impressed me at all. I think if you had to rank the top three, it'd be:

    1. Bama
    2. Florida
    3. UT

Everyone is riding the SEC, again, but none of their teams have really beaten anyone outside of the conference, either, aside from Bama beating VT (which is why I'd have them at number 1).

Outside of reputation, what has the B12 done this year to demonstrate they are better than the ACC or Pac10 or Big10 or BigEast? Each of those conferences has a non-conf win over a currently ranked team - the Big 12 doesn't have a single one. The ACC alone has two wins over ranked B12 teams.

Shoot OSU nearly lost to a sketchy TAMU team. Wish Texas played a good team in their preseason this year. Kudos to OU, USC, and the teams that step up their preseason schedule.
