    This is supposed to be Matthew's shot at Oscar gold. Based on a true story of Ron Woodroof, a real-life Texas electrician who found himself in a life-or-death battle with the medical establishment and pharmaceutical companies after being diagnosed as HIV-positive and given 30 days to live.

    This was before my time but maybe some of our older member's have some anecdotes. What I gathered is that the guy was a notorious homophobe (possibly gay) who helped hundreds of gay men in Texas secure prescription drugs from Mexico that the FDA/Pharm cartels would not provide.

    Looks interesting and like he took a page from the Christian Bale school of physically getting into a role.

    This is probably a great role for McConnaughey but does show how limited he is as an actor. This a role made for him, Texan hustler who has life change, unlike Bale of Daniel Day Lewis who can make themselves into a role.
