maybe this should be the official thread: if we can just play with the broncos we'll be doing great! the broncos are my pick to win the super bowl.
I guess no tv for us in Austin with no satellite. KEYE has graciously decided to show more wonderful reruns instead. I think the Texans will have a good showing for their coach. They won't want to embarass him in front of the Denver fans. I think Carr will show some improvment in this game and we see a breakout of the passing game. AJ and EM will get some catches. I think Morency will seperate himself from Lundy a little more and become the starting back on Week 1 against Philly.
Carr will have plenty of time to get acclimated and settle in during this game. If he has another subpar game for the first 3 quarters, then I will really start to worry. But I predict he finally has a good game against the Broncos and people quiet down a bit with the Sage Rosenfels talk.
Check your listings because I believe it is nationally televised. New Sunday night football. Edit: I checked and the game is on local TV (ch. 13) and the NFL network. Sorry.
That's a bit of a gamble! Especially if the season starts off bad and they decide to introduce Jay Cutler. Not to mention their best reciever will be 36, Lynch 35, Mike Anderson is gone, Ashley Lelie was replaced with a draft pick, and we alll know where their offensive coordinator went.
Javon Walker is their best receiver, not Rod Smith. Ashley Lelie sucked...thats addition by subtraction. Mike Anderson leaving doesnt matter one bit for that offense. Lynch being 35 doesnt matter either...that defense is one of the best in the league. Still a very solid team.
well..it's not that much of a gamble because i didn't put any money on it! the broncos are always the broncos. every year there are a host of reasons to say they won't be competitive...nearly every year they are. i'm not concerned at all with mike anderson. the next no-name will step in and rush for 1400 yards. his name is mike bell, this year. and don't forget they added javon walker.
[off topic] Anybody notice that Colts running back Tony Hollings had 5 carries for minus 23 yards last night? Thats a -4.6 yards a carry. His longest carry was for 5 yards. [/off topic]
rocketfire.. haha well I'm a Texans fan.. just also a big Jay Cutler fan. Jay isn't starting so.... they probably won't be in game at same time anyways
I don't think Carr will look too good tonight. Isn't our playbook basically a replica of Denvers? I'm guessing they would know what Carr has up his sleeves so I would think Carr will run the ball more often.
I looked it up. He had carries of 3, 5, -3, -5, and -13 yards. Totals -13 yards. But he fumbled on his last carry and it ended up 23 yards behind the line of scrimmage.
