Worst part was that OBrien relegated Hopkins to a slot role the last year here. Think about that. Taking the most dangerous outside man in football and turning him into a "possession" receiver on some bogus narrative based on lack of speed. SMH. 1 v 1 balls on the outside is where Nuk makes his money.
Hell yes. I'd send NO JJ Watt (since they've been linked to him recently) AND Fuller AND Stills AND damn near anything else they want for Michael Thomas. Every great QB has the wideout they trust and like throwing to the most - thats just football. They are called #1s for more than just depth chart assignment. Look at what Rodgers and Adams did to us yesterday. I couldn't help but think how awesome it would be to have another alpha receiver that would just change the flow of the game single handedly. But yes .. YES .. a million times YES!!!! Give me Mike!!
Or being on a professional football roster. Admit the mistake and cut him. There is no point to having him around at all.
What happened to those certain individuals who we were justifying this trade...don't hear anything from them nowadays
2 weeks ago, the announcers were talking about how since we went out and made this trade and are paying David Johnson so much money that we should be giving him the ball on 3rd and short or 4th and short. I was like "F THAT". That was O'Brien's mistake. He might have felt a need to justify that trade but Romeo shouldn't. At this point, who cares if you traded Hopkins for him. Who cares if he's the 4th highest paid player on the team (yes, really). You don't need to justify O'Brien's idiocy. If he sucks, bench him. Give Duke more carries. The Texans should be bringing in FA running backs for workouts every week. Look at the practice squads. Who deserves a shot?
Well........ DeAndre Hopkins will pass 10,000 receiving yards this season.... at 28 years old. No way to know how many yards he will end up with, but he can likely get into the top 5-10 range. Either way, short of an injury he is a Hall of Famer.... my guess is he racks up 14-16K......... the 16K number would make him third all time. The good news is that Hopkins is only leading the league is receptions and receiving yards, but not TD's! So he is projected for 130 catches and 1,650 yards....... so it isn't like he is going to break 2,000 yards. In all seriousness the Texans are a disaster and the only thing worse than BOB is Cal McNair for letting him do what he did to the Texans.
What would you prefer We keep Hopkins, Texans win enough games for O'Brien to stay this season and Cal brings him back next season or What actually happened, we trade Hopkins and O'Brien gets fired.
