Do you guys think the Texans are tanking the season ? When we missed that chip shot at the end of the game kinda got me thinking.
No. I think they are just that awful. If they were really making an attempt to tank, I'm sure they would of somehow screwed that up and would have actually won all these games.
I don't know. That kick was very strange, but did you see Brown running for that first down marker on the fake?
well he has to make it convincing at least. i wonder if the first kick didnt get blocked, would it have gone in or not? that may be the real question.
I can see it now JAN 1st final game of the yr Houston Texans vs San Fran 49ers for the "BUSH" BOWL If Texans lose they will get the #1 pick If 49ers lose they will get the #1 pick (win tiebreaker) ... both teams try to tank the game to get REGGIE BUSH ..... DAVID CARR throws a couple of balls right at the 49ers D'fense but they just slap it away .... Texans goes 3 n out the whole game but so does the 49ers .... the games ends in the first ever 0-0 in OT. So with a record of 1-14-1 the TEXANS gets the #1 pick and drafts REGGIE BUSH !!
This game will end up being 2 - 4. .. as the battle of the SAFETIES begins it will look like the episode of DRAWN TOGETHER where Capt hero tries to throw the fight against the league . . . that was trying to throw the fight with him Rocket River
Doesn't make sense that they would tank in this fashion, though. I mean, if Mathis hadn't made it all the way up the field, it would have been much more convincing if the offense had just been unable to get within FG range. Instead, they pull off a good return and put themselves in position to tie it. If there was really a concerted effort to lose, that return would have been for 5-10 yards.
As one of the few brightspots this season Mathis has not been let in on the tanking strategy. Wouldn't want to screw him up for the future. Neither has DD so we can up his trade value.
No way we're tanking. I'll say this though: I'm a little scared (from a forward-thinking perspective) that by playing Carr, Davis, and Johnson, we might actually end up 3-13...thus ending up with the 3rd or 4th pick. And that would do us NO good whatsoever. If we're going to be bad, then be bad enough to garner the top pick. That way, we can either take Bush or parlay the pick into a package of picks (assuming Casserly doesn't screw up the 2nd and 3rd round picks yet again). Either way, this season's gone. It does nothing for us to finish up the season with another win or two.
Does it matter? As long as the Texans are losing, while still showing the capability to compete(meaning a possible turnaround next year), isn't that the best-case scenario during this awful season?
With the way LARRY JOHNSON has been running what happen to him when Priest Holmes comes back next yr? Split times? or one has to go? If they split times can Bush/DD do the same
What day is Kris Browns radio show? I'm sure he gonna get alot of calls about that kick. Might actually listen to 790 other than Palilo that day.
It think it is pretty doubtful that Priest will play again [according to doctors] so him being back next year is even more so Rocket River
