Texans pursuing Pathon <Mar. 31> The Texans are interested in signing Pathon, ESPN.com's Len Pasquarelli reports. Pathon, who worked out for Houston coaches and team officials on Thursday, played sparingly for the Falcons last season, catching only one pass in eight games. I thought Mathis was the deep threat. Why do we need Pathon too?
I have never heard of this kid, im gonna have to check my Madden 06 to see if he is any good. j/k No but really if dude cant get on the field as a falcon reciever why do we need him?
http://www.nfl.com/players/playerpage/12612 he's a decent player, has speed from what i remember and will help stretch the defense....y not pick him up...the more quality players we have, the better options we have on drafting players.....if we do sign him, WR is pretty good now, TE is good, are DL looks like it'll be ok, LB's are solid...OL is good....Safeties are devolping....only weakness i see now is CB's ....really let's us draft the best player possible and adding depth to the team.... now i wouldn't be surprised we'll draft a CB in the 2nd....
He used to play for the Saints alongside of Joe Horn and the other receiver they had. He was the deep guy there. We may as well pick him up.
Pathon isn't that young anymore and had some injuries last season IIRC. I don't see Pathon being much of an upgrade over Mathis/Walters, but I'll take him for cheap.
But shouldn't they be looking at cheap back-ups at other positions now? Specifically OL (you can never have enough) and defensive backs. Aside from Dunta, they are really lacking in that area, no?
I'll pass on Corey Bradford part II. With the addition of Moulds, we have 4 solid receivers in AJ, Moulds, Mathis, and Walter...plus Armstrong. I want these guys to develop, no need for Pathon.
I want to see the Texans make moves in their secondary now. Our offense is pretty much set once we draft Reggie but our secondary has to be the worst in the NFL.
