Didn't see it anwhere else: http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/5361260 Texans might trade first pick INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush might not land with the Houston Texans after all. Texans general manager Charley Casserly said Sunday that the Texans have been talking to teams about possibly trading the first pick in the 2006 draft. It has been widely speculated that the Heisman Trophy winning running back out of Southern California would end up with the Texans because they recently gave quarterback David Carr a three-year contract extension. The Texans, who finished 2-14 last season, have multiple needs that might be filled with one major move. "There's clearly players at the top of this draft that are marquee players," Casserly said. "Players that are impact players, players that are going to go to the Pro Bowl, players that are going to sell tickets. We're going to get offers for this pick. We've already had discussions with teams. I think there's value in our pick. "Whether it's Reggie Bush, Vince Young or Matt Leinart, those three players are going to produce trade offers. We are definitely going to have some choices when it comes to draft day."
It would be THE best option. No Reggie/Vince wars and more good players to build the team with; there are really good players through 4 rounds. Let's make a deal! Well, we won't know till the morning of the draft (April 29th)
i want to them to draft reggie or vince so half the people are pissed, and half the people are nanner nanners.
As long as they still get a stud like D'Brick or AJ Hawk. I don't want a bunch of guys who may not be great.
I want Mario Williams or AJ Hawk. Trading the pick would be the smart move to do if you get a offer like the Chargers got for Eli and Vick.
Casserly has always made it known that this is an option, and I'm beginning to think more and more that they are leaning torwards trading down. To me, it all depends on where you are trading down to, assuming we get good value for the pick. Here's how I see it: 1. New Orleans- Don't see much of a need for them to move up. The only reason why they would is if the Texans would deal the #1 to a team that wants Leinart. 2. Titans- Once again, no big reason for them to move up, especially since they have major cap issues. They are guaranteed at least one of the top 3 players (VY, Leinart, Bush) and rumors are swirling that Chow likes Cutler as well. 3. Jets- Seem to be a viable candidate since they could use both a QB and RB, but rumors are that they like Cutler a lot and there's a pretty good chance he'll still be on the board at #4. If they want Leinart, Young, or Bush, they will definitely have to move up. There is also a slim chance that we could get VY this low as well, assuming the Jets take Bush, Saints take Leinart, and Titans take Cutler. 4. Packers- This is the lowest I would trade down personally. At #5, we would still have a chance at D'Brick, Mario, and Hawk. Besides VY and Bush, I think both D'Brick and Hawk would be big additions to the team. The Packers could use both a QB and a RB, maybe more of a need for a RB since they do have A. Rogers.
"For my next stunt, I will attempt to read 42 consecutive IC2000 posts without gouging out my eyeballs."
the big trade possibility could be with the Jets. if ur are the texans, would u trade the 1st pick for the 4th pick and jonathan vilma. hawk, vilma, and greenwood at LB. i would be drooling over that deal.
