RotoWorld is reporting he's seeking $5-8 million/year. If we did get him, it would be a much better value than paying Dunta $12 million. He signed with the Pats last year for the minimum, $750K.
Is it true Bodden is visiting the Texans today? I think I heard that on NFL Network but I am not sure.
Bodden is not the tackler DRob is but I think would fit nicely in the secondary. He was going to name his visit schedule today so if the Texans are scheduled for today then I'd make sure he doesn't leave without a contract.
Yeah, get him in the building and don't make him leave until a deal is agreed. Here is Bodden's agent's twitter page: http://twitter.com/AlvinKeels I suppose that will be the first place to see where Bodden will end up.
His agent's twitter page states that he will be deciding on his order of visits soon, but makes no mention of a visit today.
Hands down, my favorite non-Steeler! He's a great guy and my former college track teammate. Very underrated, good size for a defensive back and a solid open field tackler to boot. You can't go wrong with Leigh -- especially at the price he'll likely come at. That said, I might have to become a Texans fan if this happens!
I would love to have him, and at this point, I'd consider him an upgrade over Dunta. Sign him and draft Earl Thomas, and I think I would go number 3...
I think he will resign with The Patriots. <object width="660" height="405"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/8q2N-Lb1iwU&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/8q2N-Lb1iwU&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="660" height="405"></embed></object>
Im not an angry Texans fan, more of an optimistic and excited one, but YES signing him would definately appease me
I never heard of the guy. That seems to be the theme with the Texans and signing free agents over the years. They seem to over pay people we never even heard of.
You mean YOU have never heard of him. Can't remember who said it, one of the top wide receivers last year called him one of the top cover corners in the league. Reports are he's going to look for 7 million a year, 5 million less than we would have had to pay Dunta. A guy on the footballsfuture forum did a comparison between him, Dunta, and Richard Marshall (another guy who's name has been attached to the Texans... http://www.footballsfuture.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=380603
McClain_on_NFL There's a report the Texans are one of three teams competing for Bodden. Not true. They won't be signing Bodden. McClain_on_NFL Texans are kicking the tires on a lot of free agents, but checking them out by talking to the agent isn't lining up a visit or pursuing him.
