should have called a timeout, but then again, there has to be some trust that you dont allow a guy who has never ran the ball before. If the defenders didnt tackle like a armless woman, then it wouldnt have been an issue

I'll blame them...but they should have never been put in that position. Last night I went to a high school game where the same thing happened. Stratford lined up in a weird formation on what was assumed to be a punt scenario...the coach for Alief Taylor saw it and called timeout immediately. This was a very costly mistake. I was screaming for a timeout as I was seeing it unfold...my 8 year old said, "just like last night at the Stratford game, Dad." That's unexcusable. That's the 2nd week in a row where the coaching staff seems to miss something gigantic that all the rest of us caught just by watching on TV. That the announcers were catching. This team played too hard today for that kind of crap from the coaches.
