    FROM ESPN
The Dolphins worked the phones hard, and their top target was, and still is, Chicago center Olin Kreutz. It appears Miami was prepared to release longtime starting center Tim Ruddy if it landed Kreutz. But once the Dolphins heard Kreutz's asking price, a signing bonus of $7 million and a per-year average of $4 million on a long-term contract, they backed off him. Now it looks like the Houston Texans are hot on the Kreutz trail.

Nab Kruetz, Stone and McKinnley and the OL is set!

If we don't get Kruetz, I am going out on a limb and saying that the Texans will then probably go after Seth McKinney, the Aggie center for those who are unaware. Durable and young and can play. Plus, his bro Steve McKinney is a free agent guard from the Colts who would help us; so overall, it makes pretty good sense

i thought they were targeting kruetz from the beginning!! if they get him, they're in pretty good shape on the OL...not the best OL in the league, but certainly above-average. That's a HUGE step for an expansion team.

    I am having conflicts here.

The Bears are my #1 team - but the Texans are a very close second. So I guess if Kruetz does leave - the Texans are the only team I wouldn't mind him going to.

He was a big part in A-Train busting 1000 yds and the great QB protection. Plus he is an all-pro. So he would be a great pickup for any team.

This sucks. I want Kreutz. I read that the Texans are now targeting Todd Washington, a backup in Tampa Bay, to play center.

The Chronicle metntioned Corey Raymer, whom I think would be an outstanding alternative. He's really good, but doesn't have all of the hype going around Kreutz, which will probably lower the pricetag quite a bit. And, while he is quite a bit older, he's still only 29.

The Texans should go after Warrick Holdman on the Bears.

Yeah, they were talking about losing him to the Texans on AM670, The Score, this morning.

I'm hoping not. Go draft your own players.

Well the Bears made a mistake when they tendered his offer, so he may be gone, hopefully not though, he was second on the team in tackles, great LB.

This is from the Houston Chronicle on Monday 03/04/02.
