Well said. I could see him being franchised next year if everything works out. He could also maybe get a deal with another team, but as a WR starts to look at his career and goals, the QB and Team's expectations have to be considerable factors. There we have some leverage if we want to retain his services.

Sitting back for a while and while hoping for the best, I think the Texans are in the perfect position to take the risk with Diggs. The reason is the talent depth we have should he become unhappy. And so far he's doing and saying exactly what I'd like, but who knows?

Consider the following receivers we will have on the bench. Metche, who is another year from beating cancer with a full off season to get beyond just playing shape, but elite level play anticipated when he was drafted. Noah Brown showed flashes of being a WR1 when needed with back to back 100 yard games.

It's a lot easier to say fish or cut bait when these guys are in the locker room.

I say again, I like Diggs early reactions, but if it goes south, the season isn't over because we have WR DEPTH.

Diggs uses the choppy stutter steps. Dell uses the pogo stick setting the same foot down twice. Different methods of separating and both effective.

Amidst all the "diva" talk, it kind of gets lost that absolutely nobody has ever accused him of not putting in the serious work required. I love the "leadership desire" talk too, which I was unaware of.

Seems like an odd statement, is he a diva, or was he being frozen out by a diva QB?

"Are you sure about that?" seems like a perfectly reasonable question to me. DIVA? That's just another way of saying pampered and some use that as motivation and others don't.

I guess I saw the statement as suggesting he was throwing a fit because he wasn't always getting the ball and it was just him being a diva... then admitting the QB was intentionally freezing him out to the detriment of the team.... which sounds more like the QB being a petty diva.

That said, I just looked at the numbers and neither narrative shows up really, Diggs was targeted a ton. That makes me ignore the report altogether.

I think the real issue was Diggs complaining about the quality of his targets.... or another way to say it is he was complaining about the decision making of Josh Allen.

From what I've seen, some of that is valid, some is not.

If Diggs ever becomes a problem with the Texans then I will have opinions about it, until then...

Seems like he's been a model teammate this offseason.
