Would you rather have the Texans defense be 3-4 rather than 4-3? Then they would be able to draft another MLB and they wouldnt have to move mario to line backer because he is so versatile he can play in any defense he could even play linebacker for a couple of plays. with some of the young fast linebackers like Diles and Adibi this could be a good move

Why would you want a system that we haven't drafted for and that would marginalize our best defensive player, Mario Williams? He's a 4-3 DE, not a 3-4.

Yes, Mario is a 4-3 DE. He is too big to be a Kevin Greene, Greg Lloyd, Lawrence Taylor type of OLB.

Yea no way. If we draft a guy in the 1st round, he had to do something good. Why the hell would we want to move him to a different position.

If we weren't running that stupid 3-4 Capers system, we might have taken Derrick Johnson instead of trading down and taking Travis Johnson.

    That still upsets me.

No to the 3-4 system. Texans tried it and constantly reached for bad players because they were the only ones who could "fit the system".

    Players like:

    Babin

    Travis Johnson

    Weaver

I think Mario would be a very good 3-4 DE, but we would be marginalizing his pass rush without the benefit of a Ware or Merriman to compensate. The 3-4 is all about pass rushing (when done right at least) and that's the one thing we most lack on defense, definitely not a good fit for us right now.
