"Surprised by this dark horse? Don't be. The 7-year-old franchise with a 46-72 record has the NFL's richest naming rights deal, pulling in $300 million from Reliant Stadium."

I think Reliant Stadium has the second most number of luxury suites of any NFL stadium. That's where a lot of the revenue comes from.

It's funny seeing the Texans listed with all those other sports franchises. They all have championships to their names while the best we've done is .500. :p

Wow wouldn't have thought that. I'd like to see the dollar amounts next to the teams, to see if there's a big drop off in value after number 5 or so

I think the Texans franchise has actually droped down over the years. I remember seeing this list a few years ago (maybe right after their 1st season) and the Texans were in the top 5.

    The slides have the values:

    Code:
    Team Value (in billions)
    1. Manchester	1.8
    2. Cowboys	1.6
    3. Redskins	1.5
    4. Patriots	1.32
    5. NY Yankees	1.3
    6. Real Madrid	1.29
    7. Arsenal	1.2
    8. NY Giants	1.18
    9. NY Jets	1.17
    10.Texans	1.17

From the article most NFL teams are around there and I would imagine the other big European soccer teams are as well.

I'd like to see an expanded list...to see how far it goes out. I wonder how far it goes out before you hit an NBA team.

not too far, I remember the Yanks being the only MLB team valued above any NFL team and the Rockets/Lakers/Knicks and other being above pretty much all baseball teams but under the NFL teams.

I am sure there are also more soccer clubs

We used to be like number 3 among nfl teams. Looking at the boost that NE got from its dynasty, going to the playoffs will raise the value of the Texans a lot. They have been held back by lack of success and no real established fan base. Half the city is just waiting to jump on the bandwagon.

How 'bout the Knicks -$42 million in operating income? :)

    NFL owns.
