According to Star 610, the Texans signed Baltimore fullback Obafemi Ayanbadejo today. There also could be other signings as well since we were also hosting Pittsburgh linebacker Earl Holmes and kicker Chris Brown.
30 Obafemi Ayanbadejo RB 27yo 6-2 235 3 yrs exp College: San Diego St. From what I heard on star 610 from Matt Jackson is that Obafemi specializes in catching and blocking which seems ideal in our offense considering we won't need him to run. His pass catching ability will just add another dimension and help Carr out.
Here's a link to his NFL.com player page. In short: 16 games, no starts 0 yds rushing, 2 yards recieving in 1+ seasons in Minesota. 24 games, 9 starts, 210 yds rushing 291 recieving yards in 2+ seasons in Baltimore. Also looks like he's a pretty good special teams guy.
I'm not getting confirmation from any other sources that the signing has happened. Hopefully star 610 didn't give false info and I passed it along...or worse, my hearing all of sudden went bad and I thought I heard them say "sign". Whatever the event, I'm sure the signing will occur if not already since their is interest on both sides.
The Texans website doesnt report this and they are usually pretty good about keeping stuff like that updated.
