I'm pretty sure it is about an unarmed woman that was shot and killed while presenting no threat to anyone. There were several armed men and another barricade between Babbit and members of Congress when she was shot. Her act of violence was climbing through a broken window into a hallway that was populated by one guy with a gun. Police officers cannot just murder anyone they want. They can only use deadly force against people who represent an imminent threat of death or great bodily injury to themselves or others. There was no imminent threat from Babbit. She had no weapons, she had not hurt anyone.

 

If some random nut is trying to come through my window with any intent to harm myself or family I wouldn't hesitate to shoot him/her dead. You're only on this Babbit bullshit for obvious reasons...

John Kelly warned us about Trump, after working with him daily for......how long? At least 6 months. Even verified Trump's remarks about soldiers who die in service as "suckers". Kelly says that no matter how much he verifies Trump's unfitness for office, the dude just keeps getting more popular as a result, and because of this, "We live in a dangerous time".

Thread title misled me. Govt simply settled a lawsuit. They weren't looking to compensate or enrich J6ers. They decided it was cheaper, easier, or otherwise more preferable to settle the claim for a fraction of the demand than it was to continue to fight it. I don't see anywhere in the news on the settlement that they admitted any fault. They paid to make the claim go away. That happens all the time. It's not fair Babbitt's estate gets a payout for her own poor decisions, but again it happens all the time. I'm not going to get my panties in a bunch about that.

One thing I do wonder is if Judicial Watch gets any money from the settlement. I hope not, but who knows.
