Better enjoy this round because Blake or Duncan gonna make him disappear next round... It's unfortunate but seems to be the norm... Still love his intangibles... Like Clyde says about TJ, " He's a hoopsta and gamer.."
I somewhat agree. Whenever he rebounds the ball under the basket, he never looks to pass the ball out - regardless if the shot clock reset. Dude has tunnel vision when the above scenario happens, thinking he can score over Tyson / Dirk / everyone on the Mavs, when they all converge on him.
Needs to learn how to kick out to three point shooters when he is under the rim guarded by 3 players.
6 assists -- 0 turnovers His passing was so damn good in this game. The reason the Rockets won this game was passing and unselfishness, and Jones was a big part of that. Just an excellent game from him. The touch around the rim, the ball-handling, the passing, the shotblocking... TJones is just a really skilled young player and was bigtime in this one.
Skills and talent is there...basketball IQ still a work in progress. He made some dumb decisions towards the ends there and missed that wide open fast break layup when he couldve passed to Harden.
This time last year he was giving up 45/20 performance to LMA. Great game from him though. Needs to work on his awareness though.
TJ played a big role in the win tonight. Honestly, I think he needs to see the ball more than J Smith, who looked really bad offensively and can't shoot FT's to save his life. And, yes, we sorely miss DMO as another inside scoring threat and lane filler with Howard out of the game.
I am proud of him. He and Terry made a huge difference. Keep on working hard young man, you will get even better.
He may not be a super star as them, he may still get mismatched, but he is growing his game and with more experience under his belt, I believe he will do much better than last year.
He's grown a lot from last year's playoffs. When Dwight was in foul trouble, and the Mavs looked to start hacking Smith. He was the reason we could go supersmall. He was the lone big for us. Gassed at the end and missed some FTs but the bigs' interior passing was huge for us. Very difficult to stop because of their athleticism
Hopefully we will have both in next year's playoffs along with Clint Capela. That will be a big factor in our favor.
