link to story Terrell Owens will miss at least two weeks after breaking his right ring finger in the Dallas Cowboys' 27-10 home victory over Washington on Sunday night. Owens, who had three catches for 19 yards against the Redskins, said he would have surgery on Monday while the team said the surgery would be Monday or Tuesday. He's expected to miss from two to four weeks. The Cowboys have a bye next week. Owens said he was hurt on the first or second play of the game, but didn't tell anybody that he was hurt until he was leaving the sideline for the locker room in the fourth quarter. He said it was a "fluke thing" and occurred when he was blocking. "I think my hand got caught on a guy's jersey or something. I kind of felt something weird with it," Owens said. "I just kind of felt like I jammed it. I kept playing." While Owens wasn't sure when he got hurt, he drew a personal foul penalty on the Cowboys' first offensive snap of the game for an illegal block. On the dropped touchdown, Owens said he was trying to gather in the ball when cornerback Mike Rumph knocked the ball away. "I didn't really have my full strength in my hand, so I think that probably may have contributed with him punching it out," Owens said. The X-rays revealed the break. His right hand was partially wrapped after the game. "I feel like I'm a quick healer," said Owens, who missed much of training camp and the preseason because of a hamstring injury. "Once we have the surgery, the healing process will start. ... I'm going to try to get back as soon as I can." ======= As the stomach churns...
say what you will about the guys personality and attitude, but when hes in uniform and on the field, he wants to win and plays hard.
Damn, he might miss the Philly game on Oct. 8th. I was really looking forward to seeing how the Eagles reacted to him as well as the crowd. I am so pissed at the Eagles after laying that egg yesterday.
I can't wait for that game. After that horrible comeback loss the Eagles suffered at the hands of the Giants I believe a victory over T.O. and the Cowboys would boost their confidence. Their next two games are weak (49ers, Packers) then the 'Boys. I hope he does play. As much as I dislike him (Owens), I never want to see a player get injured.
Oh thats right...You are an Eagles fan. I'm sorry That was terrible yesterday. I'm ready for the Cowboys/Eagles game. I'm a Cowboy fan so I'll be rooting against you but it'll be a good game. I hope Kearse's injury isn't as bad as it sounds. I've heard he could be out for the year or it could possibly be career ending. But what I've heard is just hear-say.
I am not worried about the injury. It is perfect timing, between their two week bye (yes, a slight at the Titans). If anything it only gives the Boys more chance to get confidence without TO and integrate him slowly. They key is TO staying injury free below the waist mid season through beyond. At Phil is the boys only difficult game before Oct 23 at home versus the Giants, the Texans at Dallas basically represents another bye, there is no way they move the ball against Dallas's defense.
Sorry... Eagles' Kearse out for season One of the NFL's top sack men will have to watch the action from the sidelines for the rest of the season. Jevon Kearse, a star defensive end with the Philadelphia Eagles, suffered major injury to his left knee during Sunday's 30-24 overtime loss to the New York Giants and will miss the rest of the 2006-07 season. Kearse badly sprained multiple ligaments in his left knee when his leg knocked against teammate Mike Patterson while the two brought down Giants quarterback Eli Manning on New York's first possession of the overtime. Kearse reached for his knee immediately after the play and needed to be helped off the field and taken to the locker room on a cart. The early diagnosis is that Kearse sprained his medial collateral ligament, lateral collateral ligament, and posterior cruciate. It's not known yet if he will need surgery. Kearse is in his third season with the Eagles after signing an eight-year, $66-million US contract in 2004. He recorded 7½ sacks in each of his first two seasons in Philadelphia after getting at least 9½ in four of his five years with the Tennessee Titans. Kearse had been impressive so far this season, already compiling 3½ sacks in the Eagles' first two games. In his eight-year NFL career with Tennessee and Philadelphia, the University of Florida product has registered 66 sacks and 263 tackles in 97 games. Kearse, nicknamed "The Freak" for his enviable combination of size, speed and athleticism, went to the Pro Bowl in his first three seasons before foot injuries forced him to miss several games in his final two seasons in Tennessee. With files from the Associated Press ======== Ouch, ouch and ouch!
TO hasn't done much of anything yet. This is just another delay. He sure gets paid alot to ride the stationary bike. I wonder when the pay-off is going to come?
He did more than you might think last night. Even though he was injured he didn't let it be known until the end of the game. If he pulled himself out or was complaining about hurting the Redskins would have pulled the double coverage off of him and focus it on Glenn. Since TO was being double coverage it opened room for other receivers to step up and make some catches and gain some yards.
