He is still under contract through the next season so I assume that he will be back.

Actually he's a limited restricted free agent like Arenas. I actually saw him gaining confidence and was stroking the ball very well. Morris will never be mistaken for a take over type of guy because of his demeanor, but he's one of those players who was four tool, now is kind of a 5 tool player. He can pass, shoot, defend, rebound, and run. He is a prototypical sf and this yr in his limited time , he looked very, very good. I would like to see him and Boki battle for the starting 3 spot next yr, but I'm sure somehow Rudy will have rice involved in it.

crash - I think Bender is wrong.

First, I have to question why the Rockets give a 2nd round player who has a non-guaranteed contract a three year deal?

Secondly, I don't know where Clutch's info came from, but he has Morris on a 2 year deal the same as a source I use...

    http://www.clutchcity.net/playerinfo_current.cfm?PlayerID=207

"Morris signed a 2-year contract worth $1,000,000.00 on Sep 7, 2001. Will be a free Agent in 2003."

RealGM also has Morris as an FA this summer:

    http://www.realgm.com/src_freeagents.php?year=2003

IMO, she's a great source but Bender just missed this one.

The Houston Chronicle also has Morris signing a $1,000,000 contract for two years, guaranteed.

Hell yes, I've been saying since the beginning TMo will become a solid player and the Rox should keep him, unless something unresistably better pops up.

Hoops Hype also shows TMo as a free agent unrestricted..
If the Rockets bring in a lot of vets , its likely he wont be back..Thats why I think being patient with these guys is better than radical changes. Vets will improve the quality of play for a year or two.. then be gone. But guys like TMo are going to get better every year. I think hes a keeper.

    So do I.
I'm not sure how the salary thing work(MLE,MCE...) but if we resign Posey will we be able to do the same with TMo?
If in the end it's a question of either resigning Posey or TMo,I'd go for the second.Morris not yet at JP's level of play but has displayed willingness to improve, and is cheaper.:D

I called Morris the Bermuda Triangle for much of the season because you don't know where the ball will end up when he got his hands on it. BUT he did show flashes of good basketball play at the end of the season...which hopefully means that he's learning and becoming better

Just like Arenas, if the team is over the cap on a restricted fa, the most they can offer him is the mle. Thats the reason why GS was trying to move salaries so they could offer Arenas more then the mle. Of course the rockets probably don't have to offer Morris that much and depending on how much interest there is in him probably could keep him for cheap. The most a rfa can sign for as a rookie is 2yrs.

If I was Mr. Morris, I would go elsewhere especially if Posey is back.

If we let Morris go, I'll bet a team like the lakers jump all over him. He can defend two if not three diffrent positions, he's a good weakside shotblocker, he does not need the ball to be effective, and he has a solid all around floor game. The rockets would be idiots to let a good team chemistry guy like this go.

It may get down to either-or for Posey and TMo.

The Rocks 3 is either the 4th or 5th option on offense. 1 through 3 are :

    Steve
    Ming
    Cat

The Rocks have a serious investment at the 4 with MoTay and EG, so you gotta be think that the 4 will likely be the 4th option on offense, making the 3 the likely 5th option.

Posey will ask for a longer, bigger $$$ contract than he is worth to the Rocks and may not in the long term like his limited role in the Rocks O. Letting Posey go could be a win-win for both parties, and make room for signing TMo a short, low $$$ contract with the Rocks. TMo could shared the 3 with Rice for a year and then take it form there in the next offseason on whether to sign a starting 3 with the MLE or let TMo be the starter.

I'd expect Rice to be gone, as the Rox cash in his contract for a vet. It'd be stupid to bring him back and just let that contract expire. I'd expect them to resign Tmo, let Posey walk, unless Poesey takes a 4 mil deal. I don't think he will.
