To shift the focus away from this neverending charade with Hakeem, I want to know what ya'll expect out of Morris. Will this guy even make our roster? He hasn't been all that spectacular in the summer leagues, and does not have a guaranteed contract. We are already stacked at SF with Walt, Langhi and Bullard. Where does this leave our friend TRock? His strengths are his rebounding, perimeter shooting, and he is explosive at times. The downside is that he lacks motivation. Can this guy eventually be a part of our rotation. Personally, I would compare him to A Robert Horry type player, where he will be there for you defensively every game, but his offense will be somewhat spotty at times. A long 6'9" player that can knock down the three with shot blocking capabilities. There's no doubt that he will make the team, it's just a matter of knowing will he crack Rudy's eight man rotation. ------------------ The intelligent prediction from Moses Malone: "Foe, Foe, Foe".
He'll definitely make the team. Rudy wanted to draft him two years ago, but Terence stayed in school. I don't know how much playing time he'll get, but hopefully he wont stunt his growth like he did with Langhi by always benching him. ------------------
Morris will be a keeper. I'm hoping that Griffin sprouts (he's already 6-10) so he can eventually be the Rocket center. Then you have a young line comprised of Mo-T, Griffin and T-Mo with Francis and the Cat in the backcourt and Langhi emerging as the 6th man. That should be a strong lineup. Does Rudy use a set eight man rotation? He seems to be sporadic with his lineups depending on good matchups and coach's intuition. ------------------ A 50 win season?
Being reunited with former teammate Steve Francis should help this particular downside. Remember Morris is quoted as saying he played his best years with Francis at Maryland. After thier performance at the Rocky Mountain Review, I don't think Langhi or Morris is a lock to make the team much less the rotation. I don't think either shot 40%, and Omar Sneed got more productive minutes than Morris. I know Rudy likes both guys, but at least for now, Bullard and Walt look like better options. j ------------------ Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb!
Moe, you have been in your tavern too long! When the game is big or on the line, TRock will be there. If you check "all categories" the summer cumulative stats for Houston including Griffin, TRock stats are better than you think. With Francis in the game, TRock and Francis have great chemistry together. FREDTERP ------------------
I don't know if you guys were watching the same game I was, but summer league is a JOKE, in terms of focus, intensity, etc. It's just to get rookie's feet wet, and you can base very little on what you see there. ------------------
I didn't actually watch any of the summer league action, but from what I heard Langhi was doing great in the summer leagues averaging like 20 points a game. Isn't he already a lock in the rotation?

No matter how bad he plays he will b eon the team this year. Remember we gave up a #1 pick for him, so short of him going on a multi-state killing spree he will be on the roster. I honestly don't expect much out of him. He may become a nice backup SF somewhere down the road, but his lack of dominance in college either tells me he is not a good player or he lacks motivation. Either way I'd be thrilled if he contributes at all this year. He does have the skills to play in the NBA but I just have a feeling Francis made him look better than he actually was and once Stevie left he became a slightly above average NCAA player with the potential to be much better. ------------------
Again, Terence's best season was his junior year (post-Francis). He was double-teamed constantly and still put up good numbers. ------------------
Thanks for the new thread, Dream, his game and negotiating tactics are getting old/stale. I think T Morris will definitely develop into a very important role player, just like Mario Ellie. We won championships with Kenny, Vernon, OT, Clyde, Robert, Charles Jones, and Sam playing a particular role and stepping up every now and then. Steve must motivate TMorris to play up to his ability on a consistent basis. I think we will provide the defense that Walt and Bull does not play. I enjoy the offense of Walt and Bull, but everyone in the league knows that they are charmin tissue paper on defense. The team has enough scoring with Steve, Cuttino, and MoT. We need defensive players on the floor when the scorer's are on the bench. ------------------ Let go and let GOD!
