I didn't get to watch the game, but looking at the box score, TMo seemed to be very efficient and productive today. Why is it that he has these random breakout games, and he doesn't seem to build any momentum on them? Can someone who watched the game comment on Tmo's play? What do you think his main role will be in the next few weeks?
He hit a bunch of 15-18 footers. He's a real hardworker and a class act. His problem is that even though he is better than MoT, he can't seem to get playing time around him because of Mo's contract.
He's better than Maurice Taylor? You must be kidding. I used to hate Terence Morris. But now he has earned my respect. Isn't that an honor?!? He did great today, but so did Maurice Taylor. Our bench is very good. But that doesn't mean they should be playing at CLUTCH TIMES.
Terrance Morris is like most of the Rockets... they're streaky... but if you look at his 3.-something points per game, theres a big chance he won't be hitting the broad side of the barn each game.
Terrence just looked extremely confident out there. A couple of times i saw him posing with his arm still held in the shooting position. Wish they could have found him open towards the end of the game
Terence Morris is a 3 not a 4. He is tall and athletic enough to pull spot duty at the 4 but thats it. So Terence will not be replacing MoT any time soon and it has nothing to do with MoT's contract. I think Terence Morris is capable of being a consistent player like he was tonight but he can not seem to get the minutes. Perhaps with Rice out the and Hawkins having dropped off of the screan TMo can start getting some consistent minutes and have a few more games like this. I like TMo a lot but with Boki sitting on the bench for next year and with Posey looking to be entrenched as the starter I would not be surprised if TMo were included in some kind of trade by the deadline.
OKAY. That's our problem. Terence is a 3. But Posey is our starter. When Rice returns, he will either start again or be our 7th man. Then there's Terence Morris. And THEN there's Bostjan Nachbar! Who should be getting playing time soon...Eddie Griffin is our starting power forward. When he does bad, our 6th man Mo Taylor comes in. When he does bad or has foot problems or Eddie Griffin has family problems or the flu...Terence Morris plays. Too many forwards. I still like our team. If Terence Morris consistently makes his shots, he can be our younger Glen Rice.
i think he is an absolute liability.. He may have had a good game here and there but there are countless games that I really think he was a real cause of our loss...there was a game against seattle that he single handely lost in my opinion.. he is our new maloney or langhi he plain sucks and its the intangibles...the lost passes..the TOs the bricks... the airballs.... he will be one of the single reasons why we dotn get over the hump in the key games down the stretch.. why not hawkins why not nachbar..?? I do not see eye to eye at all with rudy on this guy..i thinkmorris sucks
He's a smart player. When his man was watching the ball he went to the basket for the layup and when his man doubled the ball he found a soft spot in the zone. His shooting wasn't really that great, just a bunch of 18 footers but he knows how to play. If he could put the ball on the floor and gained more confidence from the three point line I would actually consider starting him. That's all that Posey really has on him. Terence cant put the ball on the floor for his life (neither can Posey but at least he can go on a straight line to the basket with his strong hand), but he's as good of an athlete with a little more size.
Omigod. Roger Corman already is busily writing "Night of the Living Quasi-Forgotten Disunremembered."
Now that my girlfriend has retired for the evening, I can get back to sanity. I don't know why the Rockets play so badly after the rest, but the starters didn't do well understatement but the reserves really deserve credit, particularly Mo-T and T-Mo. Terrence was in the right position for rebounds, putting back errant shots and making the open jumpers. He proved his detractors very wrong in their assessments. Bravo.
Some of us may not realize what got our bench hot tonight. They started the fourth quarters with Duncan at the bench. That was the time when they came all the way to tie the game. They gained confidence that way. When Duncan came back to the game immaturely, he could stop our momentum until the last couple of minutes. It was then our well started Franchise and Dynasty should be back to the court and finish the comeback for us. Too bad, we didn't go for that strategy and leave the whole bench on the court.
I think Bill Worrell is 100% spot on when he labels Morris as a utility player. He works hard, hustles, and picks up those odd points another player may not get. He doesn't waste the minutes he's given and there isn't much drop off from when he enters until he leaves.
