Only heard good things about tempurpedic mattresses. One of my friends from school started this company with his family and they run their business right in Stafford. http://www.angelbeds.com/
i think their a gimmick. i sleep on the floor with just a blanket and my back never has any problems, except when i sleep sideways.
I researched them a few years ago. Basically, a lot of people have some mild problems at first because the body is positioned a little different but they get over it in a couple days. Then people LOVE the mattresses. However, a lot of people complain they significnatly break down after 2-3 years. They say they have 15 year warrenty but people have had a hard time getting compensated for various reason. Most people say that the mattress but break down by 1 full inch. Doesn't seem like a lot but folks say even a half in inch FEELS like a lot but they won't honor a refund for that. I elected not to buy one.
haha how do you know philip? high school or college? im best friends with him... I definately recommend buying from him
One of the best investments Ive bought. I have great quality of sleep. My wife was skeptical at first but loves it now. I endorse it to anyone.
bought a two inch Serta Memory foam a few months back. it's unfreakinbelievable, and for a fraction of the price of a mattress. i fall asleep within minutes. don't think i've had a bad back since then. this is the one: link forget teh pillows. for some reason, they're worst than rocks.
Love it. First night we had one I didn't wake up until the alarm went off and I was in the same position as when I went to sleep. Plus, my kids hate it because it doesn't bounce... thus much reduced jumping on our bed.
I've heard its great for sleep, but I'm interested on how it feels when you're NOT sleeping. Is there any difference when you're doing recreational activities on this bed than a traditional mattress?
I have a Tempurpedic. It's awesome. It lives up to the hype AND it's worth the price. Everyone should own one of these things. I get more quality sleep in less time. This means that I sleep less and have more awake time to do productive things. It's an investment in quality of life. There is certainly NO bounce on these things, so acrobatic sex moves are out...but it certainly doesn't hurt your sex life. Keep a regular mattress in a guest bedroom if you really need to get your freak on.
They DO sleep a little warm, but that's usually not an issue for us because I like to keep it really cold at night. I forgot to mention that they're hypoallergenic. They're also good for your back. If you can get a doctor or a chiropractor to write you a script for a new bed or a bed covering (which the Temupurpedic has), you can get most of the big mattress places to knock off the tax. It's what I did...8% off $2,000 is $160, a significant chunk of change.
I have had a temperpedic for the past 5 years and it has been incredible. As someone else mentioned the single best investment for the house. It is so comfortable and feels just as good last night as it did 5 years ago. Someone asked if the mattress got hot and it is quite cool. I love it.
I wouldn't buy one. I don't think that they would live up to the lifespan advertised and I'm not good at dealing with fine print. I bought a pillowtop mattress from a local distributor for 500 bucks and it works great and if it lives 5 years, I'll be thrilled.
