I recommend all of the things on Codell's list, but must point out that the Williams Tower (aka Transco) is the 3rd tallest building in town. The Chase Tower and the Wells Fargo building downtown are both taller. The observation deck in the Williams tower does have a sweet view of the city.

I don't know but it's definitely not Lola.

Actually I never take advantage of the buffets. I don't bring my glasses either. What's the point, there's only naked women and who wants to see that.

The real reason I go there is to enjoy the $7.50 beers and bring along a good book to read.

    Knowledge is Power.

    Tramps? Tramps?

Theyre all working to pay for medical and law school.

Last night I met one who got a 175 on her LSAT.... hmmm, maybe it was a 175 on her SAT.

Anyways, not to throw this thread into the stinker - if I haven't already, all the above suggestions are good.

By the way, I don't know if they have these in Australia, but we have a pretty nifty little eating establishment called McDonald's.

Well, as has been mentioned, Houston is a great place to live, but it doesn't have a lot of tourist attractions (at least I don't think so). Some times, the time of year can greatly influence what I would suggest doing and seeing.

You'll be here after the rodeo has finished, and at the beginning of what should be really nice weather.

I'm not sure I'd recommend Sea Wolf Park, but I would recommend a trip to Galveston to Moody Gardens and the Strand.

I'd recommend Nasa/Johnson Space Center and the Kemah boardwalk area

I'd probably take a drive out to Brazos Bend State Park (about an hour away). It's mating season for the alligators, and the males will be putting on a show.

I'd eat some Mexican food.....like every day (try El Tiempo)

And as the date gets closer, I'd check into some shows/concerts/museum exhibits that might be offered around that time.

Don't go to Galveston for the beach, though. Even *Australia* has better beaches. ;)

I can't believe no one has mentioned the Art Car Museum and the Orange Show. Top of my list.

    Don't worry about that... ;)

Pole's right: Nasa and Kemah boardwalk (seafood; nothing beats Gulf of Mexico shrimp) are a good combo.

Galleria shopping is cool (seems like more foreigners than Texans there). You can ice skate there if you want, and grab a meal at the Cheesecake Factory (go at an off-hour if possible, very crowded). Not romantic, but good (be hungry, be very hungry)

Pappasitos for Fajitas and Margaritas! (Another long wait, but don't worry because the margaritas are that good (be sure to get a top shelf on the rocks)

The Westheimer/Richmond area has many restaraunts and bars. Anything on Melrose guys?

Other than those (and the Rockets game), go to Austin. :)

That's out beside the Wortham, across from Verizon Wireless Theater and Hard Rock Cafe downtown.
