Living in Sugar Land, thinking about taking a job in conroe. Tell me about the good, the bad, the ugly...
They have a nice resort called the Del Lago. Eh.. they changed the name though. http://www.latorrettalakeresort.com/ This might come in handy.
Went to UIL there with my orchestra back in Middle School. I think they have an outlet? That's all I know. Kinda boring.
Willing to relocate to conroe or woodlands, but I don't really know anything about either area except that woodlands is much nicer.
If you have 1 drink on 4th of July in conroe. DO NOT drive it's crazy on how many people get pulled over on hwy105...
Wow, they changed the name. Parents took us there and to the local Thousand Trails, the greatest chain of vacation trailer parks that ever existed.
Yeah, I remember I used to stay in the lodges (huts) there as a kid whenever went to Lake Conroe. Fun stuff.
I went with friends and family numerous times there. It got more boring the older I got According to the site, they had major renovation & expansion recently.
No, it is far worse. Conroe does not have the multitude of shopping malls and restaurants that Sugar Land does. I would hate to move to Conroe for any reason. If you take the job, live in The Woodlands and drive to Conroe.
Its a nice quiet place to live at, my parents got a place out there which is real nice. There is not much to do couple decent bars. Has some good food out there, but it is pretty far from the city. Usually if I go there and head to Houston I usually crash at a friends house.
the stretch between rayford/sawdust all the way to 105....DO NOT SPEED. The number of state troopers and local cops is ridiculous. There really isn't much to do in Conroe/The Woodlands either. I've lived here for close to 14 years and there still isn't much to do. Oh and the traffic is horrendous. Takes me at least an hour and 30 mins to get into Houston during rush hour. I can't wait to move back into Houston.
This is for real. I lived in Conroe from age 11 to 25 (for the most part) and DPS will get yo ass on 105 out toward the lake. Overall, Conroe is a horrible place to live. The people are mostly ugly, their isn't **** to do (although Conroe people think there is) and you're never more than a five minute drive from a KKK rally. Oh, and everyone there thinks they are big **** because they have a real estate license. If you move north definitely move to The Woodlands or north Spring. The commute will be worth it.
