Did anyone watch this? Pretty interesting show to say the least.... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/07/01/naked-and-afraid-foot-injury-end-video_n_3527577.html Please lock if already posted.
Watching the 'North America' show with my 10 year old son and he keeps commenting on how he likes watching nature shows but he doesn't want to see that type of nature. lol
Caught an episode the other day and all I could wonder was why in the world are they naked out there? In what possible scenario are you going to end up stranded out in the jungle wearing no clothes at all. The elements are just so brutal that I don't understand that aspect of it.
Even in remote tribal regions of the world, people use clothes for protection, so I don't see the point in this show at all. I can only take one stupid show at a time, and right now Siberia seems to have possibly captured my tastes.
Self gratification????.... Hey the executive producer got bit by a deadly snake on the first episode and the pics of his foot can be found online, won't post them here due to being insanely graphic. The male nudist survivor of that episode eventually found the snake killed it then ate its guts. So happy ending!
Those pictures were so disgusting. And they just flashed them on the screen with little or no warning. I watched most of the episode that came off after the Wallenda guy walked across that wire, but I don't plan on watching again. Count me as one that doesn't understand why they are naked, either. You can't even say that the network is trying to sell sex because the contestants aren't particularly attractive people.
Caught an episode of this the one in panama; Laura ain't half bad (cute ass). Her partner was a wuss, chickened out on her twice. http://dsc.discovery.com/tv-shows/naked-and-afraid/videos/punishment-in-panama.htm
The episode in the swamp was more like surviving a nightmare . Interesting also that the woman has been the one holding things together in nearly every episode .
Yeah I saw that and I was like wow I think I would prefer any of the other places to that. Just the fact that you are surrounded by cotton mouths was enough for me to say screw that. I saw plenty of those growing up and I knew to stay far away from them.
The season finale last night in the swamps of Louisiana was just crazy. No way could you talk me into staying 21 days there not even with a hot naked and willing partner.
She was cute but she was also like 26 and if you told me she was 40 I would have believed it. Spending an entire life in the Sun wreaks havok on the skin. She could weave though.
Saw the ones in Panama, Louisiana, and Maldives last night. Would hit all 3 girls, especially if naked and stranded in the middle of nowhere. Noticed in all 3 episodes, the girls mentioned they had to 'find ways to motivate' the men to stay strong and push thru. Every time, I was thinking they were about to give dome. Anyway, that sunburn on the marine was awful... I've been burned before (not even close to as bad as him) and it was horrendous for 3 days. Definitely would've insta-quit in his situation.
This has been playing on Discovery all day today. I've never watched it before and have been pleasantly surprised.
The naked aspect brings a crazy aspect to it for reasons most people don't suspect. Clothes provide protection from the elements. The people who were in Argentina? where hit with temperatures in the 30's and 40's at night. With no clothes and little food for energy, it must have been miserable and potentially deadly.
True, it forced them to huddle together for warmth. This created some interesting sociological situations. Most people hide to some degree behind their clothing. No clothes, forced intimacy = interesting TV. The episode where the four people come together and the blonde is a total waste of space drove me bonkers. I would have given her an ultimatum: work or don't get fed. The episodes with the vegans made me laugh, although I found it interesting that the blonde wilderness EMT was able to actually keep her diet and help her partner.
