It saddens me to see NBC reach such levels of desperation. I liked heroes at first, but it's cancellation was needed. I doubt this will be much better, going on NBC's track record as of late.
Here's the teaser they played during the Olympics. <iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/xXUjpHHfTLY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
It may be worth a try. The writers of the original series should be tarred and feathered for their arrogance after season 1. Thinking they could copy the 1st season with a slow-as-molasses, uncreative 2nd season killed the golden goose and it never found a groove. Has a show ever gone from cult and pop favorite to dead-in-the-water so quickly? It's like they didn't plan on success and had no clue where to take things over the long term. More than likely the reboot will fail miserably, but I'm curious and will give it a chance. Heroes and 24 are posters for series that had a unique and unforgettable season 1 but couldn't recapture the magic. The difference is 24 had a formula writers milked for 2-3 more good, not great, seasons.
Yeah, a show called Prison Break isn't so great when they aren't actually trying to break out of prison anymore. Go figure. No idea what the writers and producers were thinking there. That first season was so damn good too... the kicker was when they put him in the South American prison a few seasons later to try to rekindle the flame. So terrible, lol. What they should have done with Prison Break was follow the Lost recipe for success. Flashbacks.
This. The writer's strike helped doom S2, the writers/creaters swore up and down that they learned from their mistakes...and then S3 was hot garbage. I had to quit.
I disagree. Prison break was different after season 1 but still good and the story made sense. They tied it up perfectly in the end, and Michael dying was killer. Heroes was on a completely different level of terribleness. It was rambling on about nonsensical things and no one had a clue where it was going. Constantly new story lines with no advancements or conclusions. They would sometimes spend episodes on a storyline and just never address it again.
That last season of Heroes was so ****ty I would always hate myself after watching an episode. And the finale was so terrible and anticlimactic that I am pretty sure the writers of the show did it just as one final F U to everyone who was still watching. All that said... I'll watch this miniseries.
What even happened in the second season? It was so bad that I forgot it existed. How many seasons with Hero end up having? 4?
I watched until the end of season 3 and there were some plotlines which held interest, like the Petrelli father and the company but that quickly got too convoluted. And worst of all I don't remember Peter nor Hiro ever becoming the badass we all wanted them to be in season 1.
This is the same clutchfans who's watched 9 seasons of HIMYM and you guys complain about Heroes season 2 being bad? SHUT UP!
I hope a 100% character wipe If they MUST have some old characters I sugget HRG and The Haitian In fact them hunting down the Heroes would make for the most interesting series [no family stuff] NO SYLAR NO PETER NO CHEERLEADER Rocket River Hiro and his friend were ok but I still say No to them and the telepath too
I think I made it through the 3rd or 4th episode of Season 3 before I finally gave up on the show. The original concept of the show was to have a new cast of heroes every season. But they ignored that idea and just continues the story in season 2. And of course, Season 1 was still slow and I think it would've been a mistake to have a slow burn like that only to abandon those characters at the end of the season. I did read that this will be a stand alone season/miniseries. New characters with maybe some cameos from members of the old cast. RE: Prison Break. 1st season was great. 2nd season wasn't bad, but was just OK. They realized they lost their magic so they tossed them back into a South American prison for Season 3 but they never found the groove again.
