im hearing its getting really good reviews

Tekken 6 was a dissapointment for me, mainly because of the load-times, and the cheap boss Azazel

I've got it pre-ordered. Been a big Tekken guy since the original, and 6 was a disappointment due to the unplayably laggy online and the absurd load times. If they get it right this time I'll be thrilled.

Been so long since I played it, I'll be interested to see if my fingers still remember how to do all of King's multi-throws and 10-hitters. Probably not.

Tekken tag was one of the best games of the series! Definitely getting this!

I don't like games where the fighters don't have special powers like Hadoukens.

its ok, there's a button masher player named Eddy Gordo.....

btw, did anybody like Street Fighter X Tekken? I was a bit disappointed that Lei wasn't one of the characters, but I think he's a downloadable one.

Then be Angel, Devil Jin, Devil Kazuya, or Alisa (lasers, lasers, lasers, and rockets, respectively).

If you're saying you haven't bought it and you're thinking about getting it... don't. It's freaking awful. Beyond the dumb DLC fiasco, it just plain isn't a very good game, for any number of reasons (poor balance, tag chains too easy to execute, most Tekken characters neutered beyond recognition, interface issues, online issues). I was psyched about it like no other, too. Most disappointed I've been in a game since Def Jam: Icon. And that was over 5 years ago.

I have some hope, though, that if Namco ever bothers to get Tekken x Street Fighter off the ground, it will be much better.

Pre ordered and paid in full. Love tekken 3 and tekken tag. Hated tekken 4 but i fall in love with tekken 5 and tekken 5 DR. Hated tekken 6...see a pattern developing here?

Tekken 6 was too linear. Side stepping out of your opponent string move sets was butchered. Basically whoever can mash out string of moves the fastest win.

My psn is gotEMcoach82 if anyone want to challenge bruce and bryan duo.

I believe I've owned every Tekken game that's ever been on a PS1, PS2, or PS3 system. That said, I can't bring myself to be excited for this iteration. I'm sure I'll pick it up eventually -- maybe someone will have a good Black Friday deal -- but I got bored of 6 quickly and am in no hurry to fork over sixty bucks for another Tekken game.

The only thing that really intrigues me is Jinpachi. Heihachi is my main guy, so if Jinpachi plays at all similarly, I think I'm going to be very happy. Although I am a bit disappointed that Heihachi has reverted to his younger self... I enjoyed player the old and crusty version.

But while I can't summon much excitement for the next Tekken installment, I am excited for another 3D fighting game, Dead or Alive 5, which is being released two weeks after TTT2. Possibly because I've owned seven Tekken games, with the last one coming three years ago, while I've only owned two Dead or Alive games (DOA2 for Dreamcast and DOA4 for X-Box 360), with the last one coming seven years ago. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that. Also, it seems to me that DOA is less rigid with its animations, allowing you to play around with timing and chain attacks together in a nice flow that makes Tekken look somewhat clunky.

Anywho, it will be interesting to see how the reviews go. I suspect Tekken will do slightly better on that front, but we'll see.

Capcom... i mean CASHCOM have long stopped caring about their fans, they only release a game then 2 months later release an updated version of the game, the only street fighter game i play on the regular is Super Street Fighter 4

Right now only playin Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. Most realistic fighting game out, no flashy moves or super powers. Just plain and simple fighting, ridiculous amounts of moves and strategies to master.

Nah, Virtua Fighter 5 is way more about the actual fighting styles and tactics for each martial arts form. Also deeper if you look at the possible moves/strategies you have to master.

I agree with dei... nothing beats Tekken.

Soul Calibur fell off the face of the planet with their last release

But you can say exactly that for Tekken too. A lot of Tekken's chars are based on real styles and play differently according to those styles. The number of strategies for each character is very deep with different responses for specific distances.
