This is why teenagers turn to flinging babies.

You can't do anything anymore without somebody getting b****y.

I remember being a teenager and all we wanted to do was go somewhere just to hang out but they wouldn't let us play basketball at the park because it was "dark" or other bull****.

I hate how my boys don't have the same freedoms I enjoyed as a kid in summer, we used to play at the local little league park...tennis baseball, or wiffle ball etc....

    Let them play !!

“If I come home at 6 at night after working all day, I want peace and quiet. I can’t have that. I have dozens of people behind my house playing Wiffle ball. If their parents think this is so great, let them play at their house.”

I wish somebody had the money to buy the lot then build The Carter there. We'd see how fast they want the Wiffle ball park to stay.

In a country where wingnut d-bags with stupid usernames get routinely beaten with a bag of doorknobs, just on general principle.

I can't imagine why the neighbors would want to tear down that eyesore.

    Land of the free?

I wouldn't be surprised if the city put up cameras everywhere monitoring the citizens to make sure that we all stay in line.

Sound silly? Three words: red light cameras.

I like how the neighbors think the city's land is their backyard. If the area is designated for drainage, I'd think something like a baseball field would be an excellent use. I'm not convinced that pulling out brush is severely impacting its ability to drain.

I remember when i was younger we used to have basketball goals and a slab at our park but they tore it down. Then they had an indoor court at a catholic church and stopped allowing us to play there. They didn't want to keep attracting the "wrong crowd".

It was pretty obvious they didn't mean protestants.

Yeah, and that's a weak point anyway, because I'm sure it wouldn't take much effort to dig a little ditch around their field so that the water drains away from these peoples' yards.

I remember when I was little, our house had a big long field behind it where power lines stretched in both directions. We would go out there in the summer and my dad would pour gasoline along a diamond and burn the grass to form baselines so we could play baseball. If I had been born 20 years later, I'm sure some ******* would have sued us.

I think this depends on how close this field is to peoples houses.

We are not talking about a small group of kids playing wiffle ball in a vacant lot -- we are talking about 40 kids hanging out.

I would need to know more before I called the neighbors stupid.
