Got a Windows 7 home laptop with a blu ray player, but when I make my TV as the second monitor, the dimensions are overstretched so I can't click the top or bottom buttons. This also means I don't see the borders in my movies.

Anyone know what setting or program I can use to fix this? I tried screen resolution and looking through the advanced properties, but I'm more interested in changing the display dimensions instead of the resolution. The graphics drivers I'm using is Intel HD Graphics.

Changing resolution isn't going to do it. Windows 7 should detect the TV as output and offer you a new Display Setting. Go to Control Panel, Display, Change Display Settings. You might have to do it when you are connected to the TV. I've definitely done this.

btw: what cabling are you using? Tell us what your computer video out is and TV in. I've also done this on Vista as well with a machine that had Composite video out, which had nothing to do with the video card.

I'm using HDMI to connect, and the HDTV's top resolution is 1080i. My display resolution for the TV is 1920x1080 interlaced. Should automagically fit but it doesn't.

If you go to Control Panel, Display, Change Display Settings, what does it say for "Display" when you have the cable connected to the TV? Does it offer "Detect" or "Identify"

    Thanks Heyp,

Turns out I had to goto Intel's graphics control panel. Select the TV itself in order to get two sliders to change the dimensions.
