Looking for a desktop screenshot/snipping tool similar to Adobe's Snapshot. The tool should allow the user to select the region to be captured and then allow the user to zoom-in before actually capturing the screen image. This way, there is no resolution/definition loss.

I do not need a screenshot/snipping tool that allows the user to zoom in after the image has been capture - this will result in resolution/definition loss.

I know you are all super tech-savvy and should therefore have no problem finding a solution. Thanks.

I'll second Snag-it. I've used it for years, and it does exactly what you are looking for and more. The zoom feature is great, so you don't get any pixels outside of what you are capturing.

Snag-It is awesome. Absolutely something I depend on throughout the day.

I use Snag It at work too.

But included with Windows 7 is Snip-It, which is free. So you should see if that works for you.
