Spurs 39 -7, considering they usually chill during Reg Season with their age. Hornets 31-16 , gotta say with the CP3 "leaving" mess in the offseason. Bulls 32-14 , i knew they would be good , but not this good .
I'm amazed by how impressive the Hornets have been on defense. They went from giving up 102 ppg on 48% shooting by their opponents to giving up 91 ppg on 43% shooting. That's pretty damn amazing.
I surely think some of the "assets " are totally overrated , plus Yao is out so that could have changed some of the losses to wins IMO.
Rox have surprised me the most so far. Even without YAO, I thought this team was top 8 material. Besides that - The Knicks, no way could I have imagined they would be playing this well.
The Bulls didn't surprise me one bit. I was expecting big things from them this year. It wasn't jsut the roster changes, it was the addition of new Coach, Thibs. He is the reason they play so well even through injuries of their big men. And I pretty much expected they would be a top 3 in the east. I figured they would knock down one of either MIA or ORL. Surprise teams? Main one would be The Knicks i think. Who would have expected a playoff birth (as faw as it looks right now). Felton and Chandler have ben excelent surpriss. Even Amare is a surprise and playing weell but I hardly attribute him to their success.
Really just the Spurs, and to a lesser extent the hornets, the rest of the league is (+/- 10%) about where i thought they'd be
this by far... it really shows u how good of a player lebron is... and why he left cavs in the first place.
Well in all fairness they're also missing Varejao, Mo Williams and Big Z, obviously they are still terrible but they'd be a bit better if they had Varejao and Mo back too...a bit.
As far as surprisingly good teams go, I'll say the Knicks. I kind of assumed that Amare would get his points, but they would be terrible otherwise. As far as bad teams, I'll say the Cavs. I thought LeBron's supporting cast was better than people gave them credit for and I thought they'd rally around LeBron leaving town.
The Spurs surprised me, they don't normally get going until after all-star break. Phoenix Suns. I didn't think they would be this bad. Milwaukee Bucks. The injuries to Bogut and Jennings really set them back, this year.
