For instance the Rockets and Lakers are known for their consistency in getting or lucking out on great centers. What other cities are known for always consistently having a great PF, SF, SG, or PG? As long as I can remember I've always thought the Suns and Sonics tended to consistently stock up on great quality point guards. The Suns had Kidd, KJ, and Steve Nash twice! And this all in a relatively short time period. The Sonic's franchise will always be recognized for Payton, but even last year they found Murray who came out of nowhere, as well as having what seems like a large number of quality point guards to toss out. What other franchises seem to have a knack for getting talent at specific positions like that?
This is a tough one. I think of the Chicago Bulls and Small Forwards. I'm not sure if they were exactly continuous, but for over two decades the Bulls had first Bob Love and then Scotty Pippen at the Small Forward. Now they will have Luol Deng, I think. Philadelphia had a pretty good run of Shooting Guards: Hal Greer, Doug Collins, World B. Free, Andrew Toney, and Allen Iverson. Honestly, I can't think of too many other positional dynasties.
