Teams with no starting point gurds:
    1. Sacramento: needs to beat Quincy Douby
    2. Denver: needs to Anthony Carter

    Iffy:
    1. Clippers: Cassel and Brevin Knight, not exactly reliably healthy

We need to move the guy... Too bad, I'm a big fan...

I would say the Celtics, they dont have a good pg, and it would be a more talented team, but I dont know if this works, with the salary cap.

What would be the point of trading Francis? Whoever will get is going to see the same minutes, if any, as the Franchise. Stevie ain't going nowhere. He WILL crack the rotation. Season hasn't even started yet and we got these type of threads already? Like RA said, nothing is set in stone.

I don't honestly think the Rockets will trade SF3. Lets be frank now, you are talking about a professional sports franchise, and what they do, make money. And SF3 is as good as of Tmac or Yao in this town, he will put people in those seats. I mean the guy is out of shape, and so what, play off is 6 months away. The reason we hired RA is not to let talent like SF3 or Bonzi buried on the bench. I mean RA is not idiot, you have to be a ****ing idiot to not realize SF3 is a talent, a talent that ****ing luther head will never be half as good as. If RA does not get SF3 motivated, get him to the rotation, and allow him to contribute, I say **** RA needs to be fired as much as JVG did.

    Alright some typos, now fixed.

The only way SF3 goes is if its a TMAC + SF3 for KOBE. Otherwise at 2 mill a year fit or not no one is a better deal.

Stop the hating. LH might not be as athletic or talented as SF3, but he is a above average/border line good player that genuinely wants to be a Rocket. SF3 came in camp overweight, what kind of commitment does that show you? Just because he got paid and signed here for less gives him a free pass to arrive in camp out of shape and demand minutes? Pulease....SF3 has been and always will be overrated. Will I cheer for him because he's a Rocket? Sure will. Will I be happy about it? No. Instead of giving minutes to SF3 because he was a former All Star, I rather have RA develop AB.

I will wait and see how SF3 develops during the season before giving up on the guy. The season is long and I am sure he will get into shape, after all he is coming off a season where he was injured.

I honestly don't think he can start for any NBA team. He's not good enough to log major minutes for any of the contenders, and if you are a young team with developing players, you sure as hell aren't wasting your time experimenting with a 30 year old point guard who still hasn't learned the position.

Steve probably can start in some of NBA's team but I don't think it would be the best option. Of course every team need guy like him - who can penetrate. But damn, that injuries really slowed him down.

Just leave his ass in Houston, hope he'll get his minutes.

Wow. I guess haters will be haters.

You honestly think the Clips and the Heat were not looking to get SF in a major role?

Players who have now beaten out SF for playing time:

    Jameer Nelson
    Stephon Marbury
    Jamal Crawford
    Quentin Richardson
    Rafer Alston
    Mike James
    Luther Head

It's arguable that he was also beaten out by these guys (though much less directly):
    Jarret Jack
    Sergio Rodriguez
    Nate Robinson

With the exception of Marbury, all of these guys are pretty average players. And even Marbury isn't somebody many people would want on their team. Steve needs to do some serious thinking about his game if he wants to still contribute to our or any team.

Hope you can wait a little while - The Rockets would have to wait at least until December 15 if they wanted to trade Francis because they just signed him as a free-agent this offseason.

    From wiki - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NBA_Salary_Cap

"No free agent signed in the offseason can be traded until December 15 of that year or until three months have passed (whichever comes later), a rule that prevents teams from signing free agents with the intent of using them strictly as trade fodder. For draft picks this moratorium lasts 30 days."

Rockets will hold on to him for a while, I just hope his attitude and lack of playing time don't lead into a distraction for the rest of the team a la Bonzi last year.

    rock8ts,

care to tell us where your'e getting that RA rejected SF? any quotes you can produce? also can you remind us all of how many regular season games we've played? kthx

orlando, ny, and portland all have a common thread in that an opportunist can take everything out of context, get facts that are truthy, and spell out that SF has no value in Houston before 1 game is even played.
