Ming doesn't have much success recently. I guessed other teams had really break down ming's play as games go on. and they have devised an defensive scheme against him. I need you guys opinions
sorry for just the rolleyes, but I think its pretty obvious that Yao is not getting shutdown defensively, we just aren't giving him the ball for some odd reason.
What? Not much recent success? He is only averaging about 18 pts 13 rebounds and 2 blocks a game recently and he is also shooting over 50%. Yao Ming is having a ton of success. What exactly are you talking about?
Ming is not getting as many easy shots as he had earlier in the year when people didn't take him seriously enough. Still, he's making his shots and proves to be a reliable offensive option. We need to run more plays for Ming and give him the ball where he feels comfortable (instead of throwing him the ball when he's surrounded by two to three defenders). He should get at least 12 shots a game.
This has got to be among the silliest threads. Over the last 6 games Ming is averaging almost 19 pts, 14 rebs, and 2 blocks per game. Yeah, I can see how those numbers translate to "Ming doesn't have much success recently". Quit littering the bbs with silliness. If you're saying that other teams are starting to figure out his tendencies, that could be true, but to say the guy hasn't been having much success recently is, well... blind of you.
I guess it is time for some more GET YAO THE DAMNED BALL threads. For some reason, we did that and won a few games, then Cat comes back and in a couple of games they are back to the same crappy one on one game. DaDakota
He's averaging those #'s & playing only 25 minutes a nite. Ming is playing great. If teams are changing their strategy what it it? I notice some more double teams, but that is natural with his growing respect. I don't notice any dominant defensive philosophy on him yet.
Yes, I know that everyone likes to b**** about Ming not getting playing time and that Rudy is a (whatever expletive), but here's a fact : Ming is not "playing only 25 minutes a nite". In the last 6 games, Ming is averaging 34 minutes per game. In 5 of the last 6 he got at least 35 minutes of playing time. We need to stop looking at his stats from early in the season when he was being worked into the rotation and fatigued. He may still be fatigued, but he's getting far more minutes now. As far as I'm concerned, his early games shouldn't even be factored into the equation. Ming's elevation in the rotation started on December 3rd vs. the Spurs.
Here is my opinion: close this dumbass thread! How many shots have Ming had (not counting his own off rebs)? Stupid!
DD, You have such a bad memory. The offensive as a whole looked out of sync almost the entire time Cat was out. The one game that the offense clicked really good was the first game that Cat was out when Hawkins was hitting his open jumpers but from that point on the offense just looked out of sync. Since Cat has come back the Rockets have played arguably two of their best games of the last couple of years beating Philly and Sac. In those games the offense clicked and there were many assists. Even in the Memphis game our offense was rolling. In the four games that Cat has been back his assists have been 4, 4, 3 and 3. The offense has been a problem in only one of the four games and that was the one against LAC. BTW, the Rockets have avg'd 98 pts a game since Cat has been back in the line up. The real complaint should be the lack of team defense against Memphis and the energy level of the whole team against LAC not how Cat has effected the offense.
