So with Blinebury's new blog (I really can't stand that guy), and sources around the league saying that T-mac has become a cancer in the locker room, I wanted to get the board's view on the situation. Do you guys think that our team is as tight and cohesive as they are last year, or do you think that certain players have turned against each other, most notably against T-mac.
I think there is a division about Tmac amongst the players, the coaches, the GM, and the organization as a whole. It is total drama Island in the Rocket's clubhouse. IMO. DD
we'll see. if the team is as divided as people claim it is, there's no way it can be repaired. i really don't see how tracy and other players can continue to play with one another if there's no trust. and tracy said it himself to NBA.com (if the players give up on him, there's a problem). fran says teammates are making fun of the situation and at tracy. if that's the case, i look for him to be gone soon and most likely suspended. we'll see. if tracy returns (no b2bs for a while) and we keep winning, we all know fran is up to his old tricks again and his objectivity regarding tracy is completely gone. so we'll see: 1) if he's traded at the deadline, then things were that awful and nobody can go back 2) if he stays, things were completely blown out of proportion.
Neither.... There are chemistry issues, but they haven't gotten past a point that a vetern team can't handle. In fact, a lot of teams have issues and go on to win. Chemistry is how guys come together after a period of adversity. The crystal ball is simply too cloudy right now to figure out which way these Rockets will go.
i think everyone is frustrated with the irregular line ups and the lack of consistency. But I think all of them understand that they need tmac to reach greatness. Believe in each other! But why would you call captain planet for these issues? a captain 10 game winning streak will do wonders.
Coach is doing a marvelous job juggling different lineup every night and still have a winning record. He should of got coach of the year last season and defintely should be in consideration this season as well with all these lineup changes and headaches he has to deal with every day.
That is true, but he ALLOWS all that drama. He allows the players to choose the game they are gonna play in. Adelman should be tougher. Just STFU and sit if you are not ready
Fiction. The core of this team has been together for awhile without incident; leave it to the fans and media to blow things out of proportion.
I asked Fran Blinebury about the comment by a player, here is his reply. Link to blog and comments ---------------------------------------------------------------- Fran, As you know, context means everything, when you said. "I'll toss a coin and let you know if I'm playing," said one Rocket, chuckling and shaking his head about 90 minutes before the Knicks' game. What context was the player referencing, what was the question asked etc. Because it could have been a joke, or something more seious, what did you think the player meant by it? Thanks, DD [No question was asked. He just said it. If you read the blog, you know that I said many players have gone beyond anger and are openly joking as a way to handle their disdain for the whole situation. --Fran] ------------------------------------------------------------------- Sounds like turmoil to me. DD
I voted fiction but not everything is perfect but I believe things are being overblown and if everyone is healthy this team will start rolling and everyone agrees winning cures everything
Well that answers the context question. Crap. This is not good. I was hoping that things were being exaggerated by the media, but that makes it sound as if there is a definite locker room division. Crap
Neither. I don't think are as bad as people think but this is definitely not a team that is cool as can be right now. But I voted ugly because that is what it seems closer to at this point.
Hard to say since we have no access to anything behind the scenes and off the court. Just what is said in the newspaper. I guess only time will tell.
most of the problem is t-mac related. if i were adelman, i'd call a giant team meeting and get everything out in the air.
Which guys? Blinebury has had an axe to grind vs. TMac for as long as he's been a Rocket. Feigen has mentioned little about turmoil and nothing about players turning on TMac. I don't think Blinebury is lying per se, but I do think he's completely blowing things out of proportion. Has all been hunky dory in the locker room? No, I seriously doubt it, just like last year when they were 15-17 I'm sure there was plenty of pissed off people. Losing does that. Winning cures everything. I bet the locker room has been much happier over the last three games.
