I can not stand it that in some sports that the team owner is the first person to be handed the championship trophey. You have a team who has put a whole season....their whole life into their sport. They reach the pinical of that sport only to see the team's owner receive the award. Over the seasons I have seen a few time when the owner has been considerate of the players.Alexander in 95 was about the best Ive seen (I may be biased though). The worst was when the Dallas Cowboys won the Super Bowl.I will never forget seeing their coach going to shake the owners hand only to see the owner grasping for the trophey. Watching someone like Michael Jordan win his 6th title only to see Jabba the hut receive the trophey makes me sick! In Australia the first person to touch the trophey is the team captain who holds the trophey aloft as a sign of the teams achievment. Then it is passed to the rest of the team.At no point does the administration of the team take the trophey. The moment is for the fans and for the players. I can understand the point of view of "They pay many millions of dollars for it, they should be rewarded too".Yeah they should be rewarded. But not before the players who's effort it was won the championship. If they dont like the fact they wont get the trophey first tough.Sell the damn team if you dont agree with it. Anyway thats just how I feel about it.I have been thinking about this for a LONG time and just wondered what others thought Does anyone else agree with me? ------------------ Your Starting Power Forward for the Clutch City Allstars My Expert Opinion Of Steve Francis:Mate he is a special player! It's called pecking order. Without an owner there would be no team. Without Jerry Buss throwing around his millions and millions of dollars there would be no mammoth Shaq contract. He owns the team therefor he owns the trophy. That was his couple of minutes in the spotlight. The rest of the team will be glorified and worshipped (by some) for a long time to come. I had no problems with Leslie Alexander holding the trophy. He said he would do whatever possible to get us there and he did. ------------------ RocketFuel is taking the summer off!
