Team Obama's communication gaffes have been utterly atrocious. Worse than Bush

Obama was elected in part due to his "ability" as a communicator. Based on his team's absolutely embarrassing communication gaffes so far, the American people were duped. The teleprompter president has made fun of a former First Lady and Special Olympians ( ), his VP has dropped an F-bomb, and Michelle decided to give the Wal-Mart special DVD set to the leader of possibly our closest ally. This guy is embarrassing our country.

Perhaps Barack Obama was just trying to make Joe Biden feel better by dropping his clanger on Jay Leno. Whatever the President was thinking, 60 days into their new administration it's time for a post-election Obama-Biden Top 10, in reverse order:

    10. Just after he's been sworn in by him, the newly-minted Vice President Joe Biden gets the name of Justice John Paul Stephens, "one of the great justices" of the Supreme Court, wrong by calling him "Justice Stewart":

    9. Barack Obama jokes about Nancy Reagan having séances in the White House. He later called her to apologise after the AP noted that although she had consulted astrologers, "she did not hold conversations with the dead":

    8. Joe Biden forgets the "website number" for the White House internet site designed to show how TARP money is being spent:

    7. Barack Obama mixes up the windows and doors at his new home:

    6. Joe Biden jokes about Chief Justice John Roberts fluffing the inauguration oath. The president is visibly annoyed with his veep and Biden later apologises:

    5. A Marine One double. First, on his maiden Marine One trip Obama breaches protocol and makes life uncomfortable for an enlisted marine by shaking the the serviceman's hand as he's saluting his commander-in-chief:

Then - Gerald Ford, eat your heart out. Barack Obama bangs his head as he boards his helicopter:

    4. Joe Biden tells his wife that he had the choice of being either Secretary of State or vice-president - an offer that was news to Obama aides and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton when Jill Biden spilled the beans on Oprah:

    3. Gordon Brown presents the new President with: a pen holder carved from the timbers of HMS Gannett, a sister ship of HMS Resolute; the commissioning certificate of HMS Resolute; and a seven-volume biography of Winston Churchill. In return, the Prime minister gets 25 DVDS, which don't work in Britain:

    2. Joe Biden tells a former Senate colleague who addresses him as "Mr Vice-President" to "give me a f---ing break":

    1. The latest one takes the biscuit. Barack Obama jokes about the disabled on the Jay Leno show. Afterwards, he calls the head of the Special Olympics to apologise

He hasn't attacked the wrong country and lied about why yet so I'd hardly compare him to Bush.

This list is maybe embarassing for Biden, but I can't say Obama has done anything embarrasing for himself as standing in front of a Mission Accomplished sign, just to be followed by years of fighting, and many more deaths. I don't even dislike the former President, but that was a gaffe that the current President may never pass.

But you hate Jon Stewart. Why are you copying the people you hate?

Look, Obama is the president, and most people are happy (Americans and the rest of the world). That may change. In fact, I agree with you that it will change dramatically because of the high expectations.

But you're stuck with him. He's your president. You are an American, you agree with the system of election. You are free to say what you want, but I think it would be wise of you to judge the guy on substantial things rather than this stuff. No one cares about the DVD's honestly.

I guess what I'm saying is that you can obvously attack him left and right off the bat, but it won't benefit anyone in any way. What will benefit you and everyone is if you focus on important things. Like his message to the Iranians. There's an important thing to discuss that happened yesterday. Plus the Supreme leader of iran responded.

I really think you're causing yourself undue stress by overanalyzing little things. Make your point with more substantial matters.

I really don't care either way, I'm not even American. Just my observation, my 2 cents.

    Peace

So what about Biden dropping the f-bomb? He didn't tell a senator to "Go ***** yourself," on the Senate floor, hypocrite.

    <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/4vaOp6A7PSM&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/4vaOp6A7PSM&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

Observe #10 in the countdown and see the dumb point about hitting his head on Marine One, hypocrite.

Yes, giving DVDs was dumb. But, that's hardly as bad as doing this:

No, and those who did should be mocked as much as you should be.

And Jon Stewart has brought up many of these things. Does that fact change anything you're thinking?

Remember when Lyndon Johnson talked about his pants riding up and cutting him "down where ya nuts hang" when he gains a little weight? That **** was hilarious!

    ditto.

"mission accomplished" was not a gaff. A long term mistake, yes.

itti-bitti-texxx, is this the best you can do? A little more than a month in office, and you seriously uncork a thread like this? Oh, sorry... I shouldn't have said "seriously." Serious isn't something you do. Hey, at least you beat basso to it, right

Personally, I like Biden's gaffes. The dude is "seriously" funny!

LOL funny how you and your band of merry liberals were leading the charge to roast Dubs on his communications gaffes, but now when the tables are turned you resort to name calling. Grow up, brah

Bottom line is that in only a couple months in office, Obama has been able to compile a really pathetic record of communication gaffes. This is not what America signed him up for.

OK, 10 good ones per every two months is about 240 during his first four years. I can't remember when the first Bush Gaffe calendar came out, but I think it was before his first term ended. However, being generous and assuming it was really one full term that it took Bush to come up with the 365 necessary for a daily calendar, that still leaves Obama behind by 125 gaffes. But wait... five of those ten are from Biden. Two are things Obama did rather than what he said. That means 3 good gaffes over the first two months. I'll take that... and incidentally, that would change the number from 240 to 72, or almost 300 below the Bush mark.
