I was thinking the same thing. It is great both Denver and Utah lost. But how did Kings lose to Heats? It doesn't make any sense not to keep the #1 seed. Twolves has a tough schedule so there is still a chance that they slip to #3. To match them in the first round, we better close the gap with Memphis so that we can choose between #6 and #7 at the end (memphis will lose a bunch at the end so it is very possible for us to choose).
I think six different nuggets scored eight points. Thats pretty sad. By the way what kinda name is the Nuggets? Can you imagine any player saying, "hi, i'm a nugget."
FYI..... "The Pistons had 22 offensive rebounds and held Denver without a field goal for 12:28 -- 0-for-19 -- during a stunning 40-5 run spanning the second and third quarters to win for the sixth time in seven games." "The last team without a double-figure scorer was Nov. 22, 1950, when the Fort Wayne Pistons beat the Minneapolis Lakers 19-18."
Ouch, poor Nuggets. It's sad that they are slowly slipping out of the playoffs with teams like the Blazers and Jazz starting to pick it up (sad for Rockets as well...). If they do not make it into the playoffs, Melo will not have a chance at taking the ROY award from James.
Denver with Anthony seemed in slump. Pistons Upend Nuggets 97-66 This is part of the article: The Nuggets looked more like the team that set the league scoring futility mark last season than the one that led the Midwest Division as late as December. Denver shot 32 percent and became the first team since the shot clock was implemented in 1954-55 without a player scoring in double figures. Denver has lost seven of eight and is just 1 1/2 games ahead of Utah for the final playoff spot in the Western Conference. The Nuggets were ragged on offense and had numerous breakdowns on defense during a woeful first half. It didn't get much better to start the second. Denver had trouble from the start, particularly Anthony. Anthony seemed intent from the start to prove that Detroit made a mistake by taking Darko Milicic instead of him with the second pick in the draft. It didn't work. Anthony, who went to Denver with the third pick, missed his first seven shots, including two that were blocked and three straight in front of the rim in a span of five seconds. He broke through at 6:29, hitting a 22-foot jumper at the shot-clock buzzer, then followed with a no-look pass to Marcus Camby for a three-point play on a two-handed dunk over Williamson. But that was about it. Anthony finished the first half 3-for-16 and took one shot the rest of the way to finish with eight points.
i can imagine that just as much as i can imagine: "hi, i'm a heat" "hi, i'm a magic" "hi, i'm a piston" "hi, i'm a spur" etc.
Detroit's held 3 straight teams under 70 points...on the road. Detroit's coming together after their trade nicely. Sheed pairs with Ben Wallace to form a great defensive frontcourt. Add Tayshaun Prince at the 3 spot and they've got an incredible defense. They've been without Mehmet Okur and Rip Hamilton too. Looking good.
They are struggling...you could see it coming, with their record on the road etc. Utah may sneak past them for 8th. DD
God no! Quite possibly the only thing better than Utah finishing with 65 losses is Utah barely missing the playoffs and getting a low lottery pick in a very weak draft...
