How many days before your summer vacation? The kids last day is next Thursday and mine the day after. This week is ending with the students finishing up their research papers. Next week is Finals week, basically a dead week. Then its vacation until August with a trip to Disney at the end of June. I can't wait until this year is over. It's been a tough one.
i work with the kiddos year round. our after school program ends on the 17th, i get a week off to prepare for summer camp, then camp begins on June 27th...
This is my least favorite time of year. My Mother is a teacher, my sister is a teacher, my brother in law is a teacher, the majority of my friends are teachers, so of course they are all rubbing it my face. I have a degree in Music Ed but alas, here I am sitting in my cubicle just like any other day. No countdown for me.
Kids last day is next Friday. Teachers are supposed to come back on the following Tuesday but we'll all have to stay a little later than normal next week and be finished next Friday. I won't get a summer break though because I am going to work with the IT people for June and July.
My last day is June 15th(with stupid a stupid Regents Test about a week later). Our graduation is slated for the 24th of June. Now, I'm sort of wishing we didn't start a week into September...
Mine's next Thursday. It might very well be the last time I teach for a good long while. I'm trying my luck in other fields.
Good for you. I'm sure you've earned it. Sometimes I wish I could get out of the educational field, but the summers with the family are way too valuable.
I teach college, so I've been done for a week and a half now. On the other hand, summer term starts in a little over a week. That won't be very difficult for me, though. Right now, I'm sitting around the house getting not a whole lot done. I was supposed to be so productive with this time, too... I'd go on vacation but no one else can get off work... I feel for those of you who are burned out by the educational field. Me too... the politics involved (in some cases), the fact that sometimes everything you do can be wrong... I like the academic arena as a place to work, though.
No doubt. Man, I've had it so easy for the last five years that the last four weeks have been a major struggle. Now I have to read about these b*stard teachers.
My spring semester ended 3 weeks ago, but I just started my summer class last week. Plus I'm going to start my own business next month, gonna be a busy summer.
My last day is next Thursday, the kids on next Wednesday. It's been a good year, but a challenging and exhausting one. Can't wait for some downtime, although I'll be tutoring two days a week over the summer. Standard teacher pay ain't paying the bills!
Just finished my last final (Criminal Law). That means I'm on "vacation" until mid August from school, but still working full time. I will feel like such a slacker next week...
Teachers deserve every day of holidays they get. They more than make up for it during the year with all those late nights and weekends of planning/marking. I did, anyway.
