Ok guys sorry for the random thread but i need to know what the general consesus is of Taylor Swift and her music from America, and wherever other Clutchfans members are around the globe. I'm 20 and and grew up listening to my brother's rap albums so taking after my brother - rap has dominated all of my music playlists to this day. However after seeing Taylor's filmclip 'Our Song' and falling in love with her (i've been ridiculed enough over here) i decided to download her albums... And can't find myself able to stop listening to them. The majority of her songs are awesome to me - a 20 year old guy who listens to rap. She has also paved the way for me into country music... Probably 2 polar opposites music wise. Also... It was made as a joke to my friend today - but join the group on facebook "Taylor Swift is pretty much the best thing... ever. " /end random, useless thread.
hahaha. i am immune to this sort of harrassment as i've dealt with it from pretty much every single one of my guy friends over here... And yet most of them are not closet Taylor Swift fans.. Don't lie SwoLy... You were waiting for a thread like this to be made.
listen to better music... seriously there's way too much fantastic music out there that is easily accessible to you... no reason to limit yourself that being said, i no nothing about this taylor swift character other than the fact that i would probably have sexy time with her
Given the current sad state of rap, I'd say this is at the very least a lateral move. Seriously, she is a really good song writer and she is easy on the eyes.
I once went into Don's Record Shop and bought a Walter Brennen(Old Rivers) & CCR cassette. Taylor Swift is good, but I like Carrie Underwood better. My wife is the one who needs to reply to country music threads though, however she's still asleep.
I have no opinion of Taylor Swift, but I really like Jennifer Nettles. That chick has some amazing pipes.
She's cute and I like that one song where the chorus is "you should have said no," but I didn't like the new stuff she did on SNL. I would say for somebody who's not even 20 years old, she's pretty talented and maybe the older she gets she might do some really good stuff someday. What other country music has she gotten you into? Most of the stuff today sounds like crap. Tom Petty once said that country music today is just bad rock n roll with a fiddle.
Word... I must admit, I have her first CD and I blame it on my daughter...however, she has a nice voice and is pretty so that helps too...
The only song I ever heard by her was some absolute trash with lines like "You be the prince and I'll be the princess" Pretty much the worst thing I have ever heard. You should be ashamed that you listen to such bubble gum filth when you live in an era with great music being constantly churned out and a cannon of great music from past eras readily available in digital quality thanks to modern technology.
Well, if Taylor Swift is the gateway artist that leads you away from rap, so be it. I got out of my "rap phase" at 14 when I began listening to country and from then on my musical tastes expanded. So, I think it's a good move
You sure? Have you heard of Fergie or The Pussycat Dolls among a litany of rubbish pop stars out this decade?
