Isn't that pretty bad news? It sounds to me like he has not recoverd from the injury, and it's a possibility he won't even play this season. I was completely unaware that he was having a serious problem with his ankle. ...and so it begins. Rockets: Ming debuts; Taylor re-injures ankle by Fanball Staff - Fanball.com Thursday, October 24, 2002 News Maurice Taylor re-injured his right ankle on Wednesday night, according to the Houston Chronicle. Taylor has been hobbled by the bum ankle all of training camp. Meanwhile, Yao Ming played in his first preseason game. "When you watch on TV it seems easy. When you're out there playing, it is really difficult," Yao said. "The NBA is not something everybody can do. I felt like a rookie."
This does not sound like the same injury from last year, but then again what do I know. Hopefully he is not seriously hurt.
He "tweaked" it. It's a surgically repaired ankle. It is going to cause him some problems. Some people take as long as 5 or 6 months LONGER than Mo did to recover. It will be a bit before he's 100 percent.
He tweaked his ankle not his achilies which he tore last year your achilies runs up the back of your leg.
The Injury Report says that he is "questionable" for tonight's game, so I don't think there should be any worries about this keeping him out the entire season!
This just means Yao Ming and EG will get more time together... I can't see playing MT, it doesn't mean anything and why risk it?
Hate to break it to ya...again...but , Mo's done...be happy if he can average 10 points and 4 rebounds this year.
Everybody is going to have tweaks and set backs from injuries. Who on this team doesn't have some malady they are fighting. I thinks some of these injuries are minor and would be played through during the season. It doesn't matter right now if they sit or play...
the way griff is playing, we can afford to let motay take his time recovering. griff is looking like he is poised for a breakout season - a season that will demand 35+ minutes per game. kt can pick up the scrap minutes.
Oh yeah, because tweaked ankles have been known to completely destroy careers. Why should we be happy with 4 rebounds per game this year when he grabbed 6 in 18 minutes the other night!?
