HOUSTON (AP) -- The Houston Rockets signed rookie guard Jermaine Taylor to a multiyear contract on Wednesday.

The 6-foot-4 Taylor was drafted by Washington in the second round and Houston acquired his rights in exchange for cash. Taylor was the 32nd overall pick.

Taylor scored 1,979 points at Central Florida and made a school-record 251 3-pointers. He finished his four-year career as Conference USA's fourth-leading scorer.

Taylor averaged 11 points and 2.3 assists in four games with the Rockets' summer league team.

You should lower your expectations. Chase is a nice player, but he is not an HOF talent. Far from it.

We CAN sign both - but someone would need to be trimmed somehow before the season started.

If things remain as they are then Budinger probably gets a non-guaranteed contract of the 2 year minimum variety? That way he can play pre-season and we (Rockets) can decide between him and White as to who is preferable.

If Budinger signs the "Morey special 2+2" deal, then expect to see a trade going down (or White is gone).

Brent Barry seems like a player they might release. On paper we're not contenders and he may want to go sign with one.

Chase isn't going anywhere, yet. People just need to put the pipe down and quit getting ahead of themselves.

He will have his day. Contract negotiations or possibly him being part of a trade are the only probable reasons he has not been signed yet.

I rather have Bundinger than Taylor. We need some whites on the team, to become a multi race team. I like his play in the summer league. I think we should release James White and Brent Barry.

Taylor the next Jordan and Chase the next bird...

    It could happen...

Maybe... probably not. But maybe. Not likely. Maybe it could happen.
