In this week's team report from the Sporting News it states that for the second straight year, the Rockets nabbed a pretty good free agent at a bargain-basement price. Last year it was Shandon Anderson who took the exception to sign with the Rockets. This year it was former Clipper (aren't they all former Clippers eventually?) Maurice Taylor who jumped ship for a safe (and sane) harbor in Houston. Not a bad haul for the Rockets, who could probably comb through a flea market and find a Matisse. For his part, Taylor is ecstatic to be with a real team for a change. They now have some offensive firepower to complement the guards. And it turns out the guards had a great deal to do with bringing Taylor to town. I have a great Feeling about next year... ------------------ Rockets... The Key to the Future is now. Robjos Creations

SECOND straight? How about: CLYDE DREXLER CHARLES BARKLEY KEVIN WILLIS SCOTTIE PIPPEN MICHAEL DICKERSON CUTTINO MOBLEY STEVE FRANCIS MAURICE TAYLOR Okay, so it may not be eight straight, but dangit, we've been doing this for a while now ... and people are just not realizing it? ------------------ I have a dream.........his name's Hakeem. The key words are, we've gotten a free agent at "bargain basement prices" the last two years. Quitten's contract wasn't exactly all that cheap. The rest of the guys on your list who we got with really cheap contracts were actually draft picks (excluding Taylor of course.). ------------------ Ugh, Another Rockets off-season....I'm gonna need a keg of Pepto-Bismol.
