1. In Defense of Maurice Taylor Not sure how it happened, but Taylor developed a reputation for being a mediocre or average PF. I disagree. Taylor is one of the better PFs in the league. I would be perfectly comfortable with Taylor starting alongside Yao Ming. (Taylor's rebounding average is mis-leading because he plays a middle-distance game on offense and the likely off-side help on defense.) 2. There are other Fisher's in the sea. I am not a fan of Derek Fisher's -- partly because he was Laker, whines on the court, and flops on defense. 3. The Sura Thing Bobby Sura is the next best thing to Jason Williams! Enough said. 4. The Barry Brothers Both are unrestricted free agents, intelligent players, and both bring energy to the game. 5. Michael Doleac What's wrong with a near-seven footer who can hit the outside shot? brent barry wants the full MLE for 4 years. i think the rockets want to be able to sign 2 people with that money.
If one of the best Power Fowards in the league were 27 years old, making $7M/season and available in the expansion draft, it would be a no-brainer for Charlotte to select him. Mo Taylor, on the other hand, will go unselected. You're not possessed by The Cat, are you? Exactly what I was thinking.
Mo T being one of the best power forwards is kind of like saying Jason Williams has one of the best shots in the league. Only a fool would say something like that, right?
I love Mo T and thought he was great off the bench as instant offense and showed immense progress as a defensive player...wasnt he among the team leader in charges??... I would like Fish as a backup PG because he seems like a JVG type of player...and I also dont think he'd demand too much money...
If the Rockets trade Francis and sign T-Mac who could they possibly get that would be better? Barry is a very intellegent, sharp shooting and a superior passer to Steve. Barry and T-Mac would be a very sweet back court.
