    Our foward positions are weak. So here are some people I'de like the rockets to go for;

    Al Harrington SG/SF/PF (possible through trade)
    I'm all for getting more forwards who are strong interior defenders and shotblockers. I f we had another Cato type player we wouldnt have to worry about fouls and it would help our defense. But More height could help from the small foward position.You can get that with Al Harrington who stands around 6'9. That is a big difference compared to Jim Jackson who's 6'5.Harrington was kind of disgruntled with his playing time early in the season in Indiana. A bigger Small foward who can play some pf. If we could go hard for him and offer indiana a good package without giving up nachbar you could have a really good lineup. To me to have a good defense it has to be quick and tall. Height is a good thing. We are pretty short with the exception to Ming and Cato.If you think of other guys in the same arena you think maybe Rashard Lewis or Shawn Marion. I think you can offer less with Harrington.

    Ron Mercer SG/SF (possible through FA)
    Hasnt really found a good fit anywhere he's been but still could be a great player given a good situation. Spurs landed him offseason but couldnt find a place in the rotation with Hedo turkoglu and Bruce Bowen. I think given some time he could produce like Jim Jackson did with Sacramento last season. He's a slasher with a good jumpshot. He has a somewhat similar game but a bit bigger than Jackson and more of a slash to the basket type . If we "trade" Mobley in the offseason we could lessen the blow of his departure with Mercer as a Free Agent pick up for small foward and Jim Jackson moving to shooting guard.

    Chris Webber SF/PF (MAYBE possible through trade)
    Who knows if he's available? I can say though Sac wouldnt be opposed to trading him totally if Sac gets booted in the Second Round of the nba playoffs.He has had trouble recouping from surgery and isnt really backto 100 percent playing form. You have to also consider him being booed by Sac fans bc of his slow recouping late in the season. Could we package something via three way deal with another team ? Would you take chance of him maybe never regaining that extra explosiveness? Alot of questions ,but we know already what C-webb can do and alongside Yao Ming that form an unstoppable duo.

    Erick Dampier C/PF (possible through trade)
    I've always liked his play even through college. He's very very underrated in my honest opinion.He can play some pf given the type of offense Van Gundy used. He can block shots , give you a few low post moves,and a thick body in the lane. I look at him as a slower Cato with a few offensive moves. One thing the rockets need is a tough power foward who can guard the center position and dampier can do that.Not overly quick but our interior defense would be upgraded seriously with his presence inside.

    Rashard Lewis SF/SG
    He played mostly Shooting Guard when Gary payton ran the point in Seattle. He'd be another player i'de go hard for alongside Harrington for the Small Foward position. He's a native Houstonian. Players seem to pick up their game some when they play in their hometown and Lewis would be no exception . He has a good streaky three point shot and plays the passing lanes pretty well. There's no doubt Lewis could be an awesome fit but how do you bring him to Houston?

    Would love to have Harrington. I think he's very under-rated, and could contribute immediately...

    Mercer couldn't come off the bench in SA. SA and Houston have similar coaching philosophies (defensive-focused, inside/out game)...what makes you think he will fit in here?

    Lewis and Webber would be major impact players, but would be too expensive and/or break up our core.

    Dampier would be better suited to be the starting center on another team. He's marginally better than Cato.

    No on McDyess - dude hasn't played a full season since the late 90's...

    For now, we're trying to win a playoff series...Rockets in 7.
