Those who wanted to tank the season, who that was picked 2-11 would have drastically changed the fortunes of this franchise? Of course Davis would have been worth it, but that's obvious as well as extremely unlikely. Which guys picked above Lamb are significantly better than him?

    Dwight Howard or Anthony Davis

    END OF THREAD

if we get a Top 5 pick, we dont have too trade for anything, and we would still have one of our first rounders from the Budinger deal or Knicks pick

If we dont get the number 1 overall( then we trade it)

    Thomas Robinson

I think he's going to turn out to be the best player in the draft, honestly.

I like Kidd-Gilchrist, Terrence Ross, and Rivers a lot.
I wasn't entirely sold on Drummond like everyone on here was.
I'm also not entirely sold on Anthony Davis either, people are hyping him up to be the next Kevin Garnett.

This is a good thread. The Rockets got a great haul from the draft *and* they have cap flexibility *and* they have enough good players that they can add a big piece without gutting the roster.

Whoever Morey was losing sleep trying to trade up for.... Or whatever trade target Morey was losing sleep trying to acquire a top pick to trade for....

I don't know where that guy came from. He must be some former poster that was banned.

Beal, Robinson and of course, ADavis. If all went wrong try and trade the pick in a package.

you can say the same for the past 2 drafts too. None of those guys in the 2010 and 2011 drafts are even close to a franchise savior. The 2009 draft would have been the best time to tank but it would have been a little difficult considering the talent we had. :p

    Meyers Leonard.

As athletic as Davis with a much more polished offensive game.

drafting a franchise player or trading the pick for a franchise player.

A top pick before the draft worth a lot.

If Rockets have tanked, we should have had the franchise player by now.

Morey wanted Kidd-Gilchrist, so he would obviously have been the first choice.

After that it would be Robinson, Beal, and Drummond, in that order.

Yeah, we definitely couldn't have used the 2nd overall pick. I feel good with having not made the playoffs and ending up with the 14th pick instead.

    Stay the course.

lol - even excluding Davis, you have Beal, Kidd-Gilchrist, Thomas Robinson, heck even Drummond would've been exciting.

sometimes you gotta start thinking for yourself and stop believing that everything the Rockets do is right.

I want to tank the upcoming season and bag Cody Zeller next summer. He's going to be a star. McHale would take a bat to the head to get him in Houston. 7' in Nikes and has an old-school game. Efficient, tough, and hard-working. Hoops IQ through the roof. He ripped the Big 10 to shreds as a 19-year-old. Meyers who? Zeller ate his lunch in a double-digit Indiana win. Dropped 22 on over 60% from the field, and fouled Meyers out of the game.

This is the perfect time to tank.
