    Hey Ya'll,

I have been all for experimenting as much as possible the last half of this season. I was also darn right annoyed yesterday (it was a long day though) when I realized one of the best efforts in a half happened in a late season game that could costs us a draft pick and multiple draft positions. That said, we just don't tank. Last year we won some late games while Seattle was tanking that only could worsen our draft position. Last night was a strange occurrence where not only your own draft positioning was impacted, but the likelihood of whether you get a extra (and decent pick) was impacted--and both draft positioning outcomes would be improved by a single game outcome (a Rocket L was a major win-win from the perspective of draft positioning).

The lessons here are we don't tank, period. In hopeless season situations I am against this. But 1) I will never wear a Rocket's jersey and be in a position to walk off the court knowing I threw a game, and 2) my opinion on this is irrelevant anyway. The players and brass clearly don't believe or practice in tanking, they couldn't be any more consistent on this.

Basically, I see no more sense in tank talk.

    Amen.

In a season that has had very few positives, I don't think establishing a losing pedigree or mentality is the thing to do. Yes it will suck to see our lotto positioning falter...err...get better (Clutch, lotto recaps, baby!), but I will take the happiness I get from this team winning, like last night, over a draft pick that will probably wouldn't be too much use for us to begin with.
