H: Will Rockets be unfortunate if they cant move up, as they talked about doing?

C: I dont know about fail, maybe unfortunate. I think Cousins and Favors can help right away. Have size and shotblocking. Will be difficult. Things change every hour.

H: Aldrich and Udoh - would they help next season or how much?

C: They could. Udoh has potential. Athletic guy and can block some shots. Offense has a way to go. A couple years down the road. Aldrich can provide some early on. Udoh may go before Rockets at 14.

H: Wouldnt they have to get DeMarcus if they move up?

C: Seems that way; Cousins is the guy they want. Gotta have some size in case Yao goes down.

H: How much does he scare you?

C: There are some red flags. Teammates say he is a diff guy. Though, Houston did take on Ron Artest. Got coach Adelman who could deal with it.

H: Does Morey think he can still get BOsh?

C: Good question. Fans feel that deflation, if you will. Some concern. Will come down to Rockets making their pitch. All pieces fall into place if he wants to come here. We have the assets. Lets hope Houston is an option.

H: SportsByBrooks says Houston has a chance for Bosh.

C: I think you mean the gambling thing.

H: Do you trust Morey - has the ability to find guys others dont trust.

C: Yeah, they do tremendous amount of research. Houston is very advanced. Upping the bar if you will. Whats amazing is they go into draft and are comfortable anywhere 4 or 54.

H: What do you think or what is plan B?

C: Even bigger question. Do not know. If Bosh is gone, STAT is there. I get a sense that wont come back up. AFter that, your looking at guys like Boozer and I dont think they'll go there.

H: He's doing a great job holding his cards. Not afraid to let people know where theyre going.

H: Timing is tricky. If they dont get Bosh, then I think he will attack this draft. Will they go after Rubio?

C: Makes me wonder as well. If Rockets cant get up and get the player they want, I could see them trading out. I dont think Rubio will be dealt but that type target where they could put overseas. As for Bosh, they like him. Just plug him in.

H: Any plug on LeBron?

C: No, there was something on ESPN last night but still I think a longshot. No real mention of Houston.

H: Yeah, I wont hold my breath. Odds on Bosh?

C: I'll still say longshot. I'll guess Miami. Longshot but I still want Morey to make pitch.

H: Will they trade up with Minny?

C: I'm not sure.

H: Opt out on Yao?

C: Les spoke about it. Didnt seem concerned. Rockets dont think he will. Yao will stay - just personal opinion.

H: Lets dream - say they get Cousins and Yao has good year.

C: I still think team will be good. Not sure they could knock the Lakers off. Cousins could surprise. Just adding Yao makes them a 2nd round team. Hard to gage Cousins impact. Desperately need shot blocking.

H: On Halloween, how much diff. will this roster look?

C: Quite a bit. One of these picks by Knicks will get traded(in his opinion). Hill maybe dealt, Budinger maybe dealt. Nobody untouchable except Yao.

H: Where does Scola fit in if they get into Top 5? I dont think Scola is in a hurry w/ s&t to Minny. Who are the most likely trade pieces?

C: If looking at Minnesota, I see Ariza. Not necessarily shopping him but Minny needs a wing scorer. Kevin Martin also speculation. As far as Scola, they're saying all the right things. The Rockets have never been presented with that offer that is really high. He could be a good 6th man for a guy like Bosh.

As far as I'm concerned, Scola is the real untouchable one on the team. Brooks and Lowry to a lesser extent. Yao is also untouchable to a degree, but if there's another injury who knows.

Everyone else is fair game.

 

So that all whole DD "we don't want Cousins" nonsense is par for the course DD tripe?

 

DD also thinks Bud is the next big thing.

 

Thanks for the recap. I'm happy to see that Clutch agrees with me that with Yao this is only a 2nd round team. I see some posts saying we're going to be championship contenders with Yao back and I think they're just crazy.
