In Italy for 30 years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder, and bloodshed, but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci, and the Renaissance. In Switzerland they had brotherly love - they had 500 years of democracy and peace, and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock.

Mr Greasy pants, for give my ignorance, but isn't it a requirement that players at least be citizens of the country they play for?

Oh, I have no problem with that, Money Mark, its just curious and so easy for them to come over here and become a citizen all backed by our power of the US to play freakin' soccer. I'm glad we won, don't get me wrong. Its just noone is breaking down any latin American country's door to play soccer...er, i mean become a citizen over there. We've come a long way, now we're beating them at their own game! The West is the Best.

I never liked this show. Maybe it was the cast, maybe it wasn't sporty enough, maybe it was too cliche. But, it sucked. [IMG]

Soccer can be the most exciting sport in the world in a game between rivals, Scotland v England, or it could be boring and terrible to watch, US v anyone.

Soccer is a game about opportunities.

If you truly follow soccer it is a beautiful sport.

Between two equally matched teams, soccer is a beautiful thing to watch, the ebb and flow of the game is incredible.

Between two mismatched teams its the crappiest sport around, either one team packs everyone back in their own half and plays for the draw, or the get pounded 6-0, which is not fun to watch.

The fans are also the most dedicated in the world. They will come to a game all decked out in their country's colors and covered in face paint, even when their team isn't even playing.

On the other side, you have the English soccer fans.
