Look at the stats, Steve Francis is better than Jason Kidd at EVERY statistical category except assists, and that includes field goal percentage and turnovers. Kidd had a 10 turnover game tonight to go along with his record 14 TO game he already had this season. Just puttin this out there to show some of you who voted for Kidd for the all star game that you mighta been wrong.

Yeah, Francis is having a better year than kidd. Steve I think is now just starting his engine.

Well, I would rather have Stevie, no doubt, but i give the defensive edge to Kidd

Kidd is beating out Steve in Rebounds & Steals...also note that there is a huge differnce in assists when you compare them..Kidd has 10/game while steve has only 6...hence, there is also a big assist to turnover ratio difference.

I would take either one on my team any day, and both would be even sweeter.

Most important stat is Kidd is leading the Suns to the playoffs and Stevie MAY lead the Rockets to the playoffs.
Kidd is still the best PG in the league. He won't score as much as Stevie but he gets more assists, rebounds as well, plays much better D, and makes the team (and the others around him) better. Stevie eventually will learn how to make the team (and others around him) better but he is young.

i think that Francis will get better at assists if the team stops the turn overs

He would have more assists if Wiz or KT could make a shot once in a while . 6 assits is plenty for a SG/PG

Of course Im a little biassed as a rocks fan but kidd is not ahead in rebounding they are tied, and Kidd has WAY more turnovers. More than 20 I think. The only point guard in the entire league with more TO's than Kidd is Andre Miller, pretty surprising. And for all the criticism Steve gets about his TO's the almighty John Stockton only has 5 less this season I think. Kidd also has the advantage of having such good shooters on his team.

By the way, Steve IS outrebounding 6.4 to 6.3, not that that minute difference really means anything, but just to show chenzhen. Also kidd has such a small lead in the steals category that it doesnt even matter. They both average 2 a game

You're preaching to the choir here. I think Steve is very underrated. I wish he would get a bit more agressive, and demand the ball more. I also think he's a combo guard, and not a true pg. There is nothing wrong with that.

wow by .1 rebounds per game????? impressive [IMG]

basically all stats are the same but with only one difference..is assist to turnovers ratio..not the total number of turnovers. the number can be quite misleading..you have to factor in the games played and the number of assist also. Stevie will get there soon, but not quite there to Kidd's level yet..lets be realistic here..

Versus Phoenix this year, Steve Francis is averaging 24.5 pts on 48% shooting, 6.5 assists and 6.5 reb(3.5 off).

Versus Houston, Kidd is averaging 16.5 pts on 33% shooting, 9.0 assists and 3.5 rebounds.

It also must be noted that Francis shoots a much better percentage than Kidd from the floor(44.9 to 41.6) and at the line(89.9 to 82.4).

chen Zhen, check the numbers. The assist to TO ratio is not as big as you would think. Kidd is at about 3.3 assists to TO's while Steve is a little above 2 assists to 1 turover. Basically one more assists to TO's for Kidd,WOW! Im not impressed. Jason Kidd's turnover to assist ratio doesnt put him on another level than Steve. Also, watch the rocks games a little more closely. They dont run an offense that puts Steve in position to rack up a high number of assists, thats a fact. We are an ISO team, lets be realistic. The only plays the rocks really have are the pick and roll where our shooting guard screens our 5 and then comes and sets a pick for Steve, and some plays where we run double screens for jumpers at the top.

One more assist for every turnover is a fairly big difference. And kidd is still better defensively than francis. However, i still think GP may be the best pg in the league.

IMHO, payton is the best(he's been injured a bnuch this season), kidd is second, and steve and Stephon are tied for third

Head to head, steve outplays kidd, but overall Kidd is still better.
