It looks like the T-Wolves are trying to strengthen their team. This could be a great signing if Gill decides to stop being lazy and actually play hard. He has the potential to be a bonafide #2 or #3 scorer and defensive stopper, and he's versatile. http://espn.go.com/nba/news/2002/0925/1436904.html Wolves reel in Gill, re-sign Trent -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Associated Press MINNEAPOLIS -- Kendall Gill, a 34-year-old swingman who has played 12 seasons in the NBA, signed with the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday. Gill, a 1990 first-round pick from Illinois, has averaged 14.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.67 steals in 814 games.
I think he's a little too old to be a stopper, but if healthy he should help their team. They've been hurting at the 2 since Sealy died.
Isn't there an age limit on saying a player has potential? I hope we're still not saying Kelvin has potential when he is 34.
I think we should throw an offer at Loren Woods. He could be a good backup if we ever decide to trade Cato.
Gill = averagae to below average player Trent = average player These moves don't really "help" the TWolves IMO. This doesn't get them out of the 1st round and doesn't make KG happy about their prospects. Talent wise, a healthy and on the same page Rocket squad is better and are just as close as moving into the second round of the playoffs as the TWolves.
